Samsung refrigerator issues/buyback

We have owned this unit for 6 months and it has issues with the water dispenser leaking. Samsung is willing to buy it back, less taxes, and send me a check. However, they want the serial number sticker and they want me to cut the power cord. After speaking to them a few times I can't trust them. I need to know that this will be refunded before I buy a new one. Does anyone have the office of the President's number?

Email me something in writing that assures me that the refund has been approved so I can buy a new fridge.
