Sears, Roebuck and Co. hasn't outgrown the mall scene, but it's spending more time in other places. Beyond its 860 US mall-based stores, Sears has more than 1,100 other locations nationwide. The company operates more than 800 independently owned Sears dealer stores in small towns and about 110 Sears hardware stores and some 85 Orchard Supply Hardware shops. Sears' stores sell apparel, tools, and appliances, and provide home services (remodeling, appliance repairs) under the Sears Parts & Repair Services and A&E Factory brands. Its Web site also sells appliances and tools. Sears was acquired by Kmart Holding Corp. in March 2005. The deal formed a new parent company, Sears Holdings, which owns both chains. |

Purchased a DVD player last Black Friday. It had a mail in rebate. I sent it in with the proper paperwork. We received nothing. Called they said give them 2 weeks to process. Waited a month, nothing. Called again said they were taking a while to process be patient. Another month, sent an email. Replied that they are no longer valid rebates.
Give me my $15 rebate please.

Well, a year ago I bought my first house, a little foreclosure. It did not have alot of problems but needed new windows. They were old, loose, and a few were broken including the patio slider.
I am a single female and called Sears. Two men came out and spent two hours convincing me to buy through Sears. I was told my payments would be out $150.00 and I would save on energy costs.
They came out...

Dissatisfied with pay by phone experience |

I opened my first credit card in 2002. It was with Sears and had a 250 limit. In June of 2007 I decided to pay it off. I paid by phone requesting the total amount be paid. I made it clear I wanted nothing on the card, I just wanted it out of my hair. What was decieving is that it ended up being the "total amount- less the pay by phone fee" As I had paid it off "in full" I...

Sears sold us a dishwasher with a promised $35 dollar rebate (which would be mailed.) Instead we received a $35 Sears gift card. It could not be exchanged for cash.
This is blatant false advertising (versus the employees are completely misinformed.)
Sears should send $35 cash.

I've been a customer of Sears for 40 years and spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. Bought a new set of LG steam washer and dryer. Couldn't use them for days until a service call was made to take the shipping material out of the machines which the delivery persons didn't remove. Was told I would recevie a certificate for $105 for my trouble after I told them to come pick up the...
