Failure

We paid $279 for a nice glass & metal TV table to hold the new TV we were purchasing. We returned from vacation to discover one of the metal support struts had failed, dumping the new TV facedown (fortunately on carpet, and undamaged). This table had been in place since we brought it from the store 11 months ago. It stayed untouched except for dusting. There was no reason for the product to fail. Sears could not identify the manufacturer even though I produced my receipt, and accepted no responsibility for selling an inferior product. I do not buy disposable furniture. When I pay almost $300 for an item, I expect it to last years.

I would like for Sears to refund the price of the table in the amount of $279.

You said you had the receipt - what's the item number? I'm interested
in helping you out.

Was the tv stand assembled when you bought it or was it a put
together? Could it have been put together incorrectly? Were the
wieght limit guidelines followed?

Sears should refund you $279.

Either Sears or the manufacturer should accept responsibility for
selling you an inferior product.

I certainly would not want to spend $279.00 for a table, & after 11
months it does not work as it is supposed to.

My mom worked for Sears for 25 years before retiring. She worked as a
sales associate, in customer serice, & as the switchboard operator. I
am curious as to what she would say about this incident.
