Kenmore Oasis Elite Washer Problems

We bought a Kenmore Oasis Elite washer and dryer set in 2007. Of course we were stupid enough to buy the machine with all the bells and whistles, electronic, etc. Needless to say, we have had problems with the washer. The problems started 6 months after we bought it. It will get to 30 and then stop and flash an ld sign. Which when I looked it up, this means long drain. The book tells us to check the hose for clogs. We found no clogs. We can let it sit overnight and come back the next morning and the machine will finish the load fine. We have even moved (not because of the washer, but we did move to a new house) and are still having problems. So we are positive it's not our sewer.

Just in the last week we got on line read that it may be our drain pump so we ordered a new one, put it on. The machine is still not fixed. We called sears to have them come out to repair it, but after learning how much they charge just to come look at it, we are ready to go buy a new one. For a few more hundred dollars I can have a new one. This is ridiculous! We are so frustrated!!

We would love for them to just come fix the darn thing!!

This is a point I routinely make.

All the bells and whistles break. The fancier the model the more
likely it is to break down

Washers even have motherboards for god's sake! Really

The purpose of a washer and dryer is to clean your clothes and do a
good job of it.

I buy mine used from a local place, they are dirt cheap, repainted,
and come with a better warranty than most new ones.

They are also easy to repair. My used one is going strong, doing what
is was designed to due well, wash clothes.

Good Day
