petite clothing

The details are the very same as the lady in Frankfort, Ky. There is nothing in Gainesville, Ga. either. Years ago Sears was the best place in the nation to shop for everything! There has been a longstanding discrimination against petite women. We are not tall as girraffes, nor wide as vending machines. I await your answer @ gmomechols@yahoo.com.
Thank you
Margaret M.
Insist that all clothiers provide the wide selection of petites that are afforded to Misses and Women's. Any company that cannot, refuse their clothing altogether. I would be an excellent customer if you provided this minimal service.

Pants tall enough for Giraffes? Please tell me where this store is? I have a very hard time trying to find jeans that fit my long legs. Only problem, is that NO ONE(except the high price specialty stores,) has it in my size and in tall.
So please tell me where this store is?

Online shopping is really the key here - or at least i have found that to be the case. while many stores dont keep the petite stuff in stock at the malls and such, their online shops carry tons. Old Navy, Gap, Victorias secret, just to name a few all have petite options.

The problem is that there are less Petite shoppers then other groups I'd guess, at least for this store. They are going to carry what sells. So you may well be an excellent customer, but you can't carry a department by yourself. It's not about discrimination, it's about profit margins.

i haven't been shopping much at sears for clothes.
have you perhaps tried jc penny's? do they exist in your state?
i always think of jcp and sears together, prolly cos they were the biggest stores in most of the malls i went to while growing up.
good luck however :-)

I guess those are smaller stores. My store carries a large selection of petites. We have Levi, Lee, Gloria Vanderbilt, Sag Harbor, plus our house brands. All the big stores in my district carry petites.
If there's no market or no room, they won't put it into the stores. Why waste precious salesfloor space for stuff that hardly anyone wants?

Oh, I forgot to comment on your last paragraph. I find your demand to be absolutely ridiculous. There are far more larger women than there are petite women. The Limited, NY&CO., Express, all carry some petite lines, as do Gap, Eddie Bauer, etc. You need to shop around and be willing to order off the 'net.

Petite departments are nearly nonexistent, and when a department store DOES have them, they typically are clothing for little old ladies to wear to church on Sundays.
Ralph Lauren and Liz Claiborne's petite clothing is significantly longer than it should be, and runs smaller, which it isn't supposed to do -- only shorter.
It's rather frusting for us shorter women.

Maybe their market isnt geared towards petites.
There have been many niche stores that are geared towards petites (petite sophisticate etc)
I buy tools at sears, dont think I would buy clothes there, my wife is petite and doesnt shop there, we prefer Ross or Kohls.
Good Day
