I have bought many products from sears and every time they try to sell you there extended plan in case the product has a problem after about 1 year. This is the same when you buy a car it's a big ripoff. When I purchased a new stove from Sears after about 30 months the smooth top glass started to lose it's color and the paint around the vent started to come off. They looked at the problem and gave me a bill for over $500.00 dollars to make the stove right. I turn down their bill and never will I buy from Sears anymore. Kenmore is nomore.

Keep their stuff

All extended warranties are a huge ripoff. If every time you are
offered an extended warranty, you took the amount it would cost and
put it in a savings account instead, and used that account for any
potential repairs of the items you are purchasing, I am betting you'd
come out ahead 90% of the time.

I'm not understanding where the extended warranty fit into this
complaint. Did you have an extended warranty, but these problems were
not covered?

I can somewhat understand discoloration of the top would not be
covered, due to normal wear and tear. The paint I don't know about.

An extended warranty on an appliance seems like it would cover the
mechanical and elecrical parts associated with the machine's function.

products. Interesting reference to extended vehicle warranties being
a "big ripoff". Did you happen to catch the letter about the Ford
Fusion DVD/NVG system?
