Starbucks helped me avoid a crisis!

On Sunday, 2.10.08 I was travelling home from Columbus, Ohio, and I stopped at the Starbucks in Reynoldsburg, OH (2650 Brice road). The staff was very friendly and I was in and out of the store very quickly.

Then, my crisis begins. When I get home (In the Philadelpha, PA area) I realized that I left my wallet at the sugar/creamer station. Frantic, I called the store to see if anyone found it and turned it in. They confirmed that they had my wallet, asked me what was in it to confirm that it was actually me calling. Great! Now what? The employee on the phone said she noticed I had a PA driver's license and offered to ship it to me.

I just wanted to point out how helpful your employees were in stopping what could have been a major crisis. Not only helpful, but really polite and undertanding of the whole situation. This has left a great impression of starbucks for me and my family, and I'm sure I will choose starbucks for all my coffee needs in the future :)

I know how it feels to loose a wallet...I've done it more than once.

Last two times...one was in a theatre in VA, and once was in Japan.
Both times I got the wallet back intact with everything inside, even
my money.

I'm glad to see Starbucks so helpful.

:)

Ugh, I'm so glad you got your wallet back OK. I know that realizing
it's missing is the worst feeling in the world. I left mine on a bench
at the mall at Xmas time once. I was 8.5 months pregnant, trying to
find a gift for my SIL, and lost it at some point after buying my boys
a pretzel. I remember the Xmas song "It's the most wonderful time
of the year" was playing on the PA, and I was the crazy prego
yelling "There is NOTHING WONDERFUL abou this!!! My wallet is
missing!!!!"

Lucky for me, a janitor found it and brought it to guest relations.
But that sinking feeling when you realize it's gone is the worst!!!
I'm glad those Starbucks employees are as honest as the mall janitor I
encountered that night!!

Great letter, I'm glad it worked out for you. I left my purse (yes,
my entire purse) in a Wendy's once. The woman who found it tried to
give it to the cashier to hold but the people behind the counter
didn't speak English well. She went into my purse and got my phone
number off a prescription bottle and left a message that she was
turning it in to the police station across the street. We had
returned to the Wendy's in the meantime and they directed us to the
police and we got there as the woman was leaving. I tried to give her
a reward but she wouldn't accept anything, she was just happy I was
reunited with my purse. The police verified it was mine and gave it
to me. It's so nice to know there are honest people in the world. I
had everything in there including a prescription bottle of narcotic
painkillers (easily sold or just taken).

Melissa S.,

Nice that it appears everything will workout in your favor.

Considering that your eallet will have been out of your control for
sometime I would suggest that if credit cards were involved that they
be cancelled immediately just to be on the safe side.

This is not meant as a slam on Starbucks, their associates or possibly
a customer that found and turned in your wallet as much as it is the
reality of the today's world.

Again, glad to hear that you well be getting back.

Please give us a heads up when it gets home.

BillR.

Wow!

For employees to go to that extreme when they don't have to is
certainly re-assuring. I'm always losing things, and a lost wallet is
the worst. I lost one in Franklin Mills (So it happens in Philly,
too!) and someone anonymously sent it to me in the mail, it restores
my belief in Karma!

Leaving a wallet/purse behind is one of the worst feelings in the
world. I stopped carrying a bag a long long time ago because I knew I
was going to leave it somewhere. I use one of those combo
wallet/change purse/keyring things so I know I can't drive away
without my wallet because the car key is attached to it! haha

I hope you get your wallet back soon. Most people are honest, so
I'm sure it will be intact.

Great letter, Melissa!

This is a great letter! I hope you get it back soon too. I would have
been nervous about being pulled over without my info and of course it
would be one of the few times that I actually would be lol.
Glad you happened to leave it with responsible people. It's nice to
know there are people out there that will help you out when you need
it and great that you recognized them for it too.
