Poor Customer Relationship

Posted Wed July 11, 2012 9:38 pm, by Phyllis D. written to Stop N Shop Corporation Headquarters

1st as you know that you don't have the steady customers like you did. Your prices have been rising, and many of your customers have been going to other stores to finish their weekly shopping.2nd: Your handicap carts should be repaired at all times, and powered up at all times, too. 3rd the policies on the the amount of products we have to purchase to get the cents off a gal. of gas. Many people won't go out of their way to purchase from four to ten items to save from 30 to 90 cents off gas. For that I rather go to the cheapest gas station, and buy it for 5 to 30 cents less. In fact while in Warwicks' gas prices are $3.45, $3.49; I went to Cranston, R.I., and purchased ga for $3.30 per gal., and I did that for three weeks in a row. Now twice since you hsd the Stop N Shop gas station on Warwick Ave./Sandy Ln. I had enough points on my S & S Card to save 30 cents off each gallon of gas, and the person in the booth told me that I didn't have enough points to get the gas discounted. So now I don't buy anything from your store I don't need, and I buy the gas some place else, and much cheaper. You should lower the gas prices, and make sure your employees be honest to your customers. You have to realize that you are competing with super Walmart stores, and many others around.

You should take our advice. When your employees put dented cans, ripped boxes, an animal food in the discounted shelving; the prices are just as much as the brand new groceries, and that isn't right. In Shaws the dented cans of anything are from 25 to 75 cents.Their gas are much lower, too. In fact they have a lot more customers, too.

you might need to review the rules on gas points for your chosen
store.

i know the store i go to here has specific policies on what generates
points (or extra points) and what doesn't. and on when those points
expire (end of each month).

as for the carts - if you are in need of one and cannot find a working
cart, you can also ask an employee to provide assistance. many stores
will provide this - if you ask

or you may want to consider what other customers do and they purchase
their own (insurance may cover it). that way they never have to worry
about what damage other people do to carts.

Handicapped shopping carts are merely a convenience to the shopper,
not an ADA requirement. As long as the store is handicapped
accessible, then the store is in compliance.

It costs money to buy the handicapped shopping carts as well as to
repair them. If the store does not have the funds in their budget to
do either, then the cost is passed on to the consumer, like you.

Are handicapped shopping carts an ADA requirement?

No, they are not... by Harleycat Thu July 12, 2012 @ 12:01 PM

Care to rethink that? by Tayla38 Thu July 19, 2012 @ 2:23 AM

You might not know that the gas points expire. I don't remember how
much time you have to use them before the expiration date. Where I
live, Stop and Shop gas is one of the cheapest. There are 4 gas
stations within a 1/2 mile of each other though so that might be a
factor. I buy groceries at Stop and Shop because it is convenient, not
for the gas points.
