A happy little boy thanks to Stride Rite

On April 7, 2007, I had taken my son to get a pair of shoes at your Mentor, Ohio location. He wears a brace on his right leg and I was concerned that he may need different sized shoes for each foot. I spoke with the associate about it. She told me that if that were the case, one pair of shoes would be 40% off and the other full price. We decided to try shoes on.

Debbie was very friendly and fun while trying to work with my 3 year old son. She measured his feet and then measured his brace. The size difference in his feet was only a half size so we did not need to buy two pairs. I asked her what styles of shoes would best go over his brace. Instead of us looking around and possibly getting our hopes up, she went to the back and pulled all the styles and sizes that would work. She brought out roughly 6 different styles. She had a hard time getting the shoes on over the brace so her coworker came over to help. I'm unsure of her name but I believe she is a manager. Both women interacted wonderfully with my son and helped make the experience go so smoothly. I was concerned that if the professional was having a hard time that we might as well but they told us that Debbie has very weak wrists. Then the other lady just popped the shoe on and told us that it'll be tight for a few days until the shoe stretches but it shouldn't be hard.

I have always shopped at Stride Rite for my children's first pair of walking shoes. They offer the best support and hold up under the pressure of active little boys. With my son being in braces we have very few options but with employees as fabulous as these, we are glad to do our shoe shopping with your store.

My daughter has bilateral clubfoot--Stride rite did not offer us the
discount. Nordstrom will split sizes FOR FREE! They sell Stride
Rite:)

Which store was this? My local store doesn't have this policy, and
StrideRite.com doesn't mention it. My granddaughter has one club
foot, a full size smaller than the other.

My daughter was born with a club foot (left foot) and she was in a
cast for over 5 months before going into braces. The braces (DBB) were
worn 24/7 until she was 15 months old. It was then we got approval to
put her in them only overnight. So off to Stride Rite we went.

The associate (Aurora Farms - Outlet) was very pleasant to work with
and fitted my daughter with several pairs of shoes, but most
importantly she knew the product. I informed her that my daughter
would probably have a brace to wear with her shoes later in the
summer. She showed me a few of my options that will work well with a
brace and told me not to buy them now as her feet might grow.

One of my weeknesses in life are shoes. This will probably rub off on
my daughter as she gets older. I have given her a good start though
with her walking shoes, Mary Janes, Saddle Shoes, Sandals, and Tennis
Shoes. I will buy her Stride Rite only (also suggested by her
Orthopaedic Surgeon) until she can no longer fit in a Stride Rite
shoe!

I remember going through getting my oldest fitted at Stride Rite (he
has my wide feet). I had almost forgotten that - but I guess I better
gear up! Won't be long before Briley's walking. AHHHHHHHHH!

Ahhh... the memories.

I think I bought all of my daughter's shoes in a Stride Rite store.
It's probably the only place where you can still get professional and
personalized service. And giving a substantial discount on the second
pair, when needed, is an added bonus.

It sounds like you got top notch service, and it's nice of you to let
them know.

Great letter!

What a great letter! What a great store! You wouldn't have gotten
that kind of quality or service at a large discount store. What
great employees -- they really seem to know their product and have
good attitudes.
