On November 10, 2008 I went to Subway to purchase lunch for my coworkers. After preparing 6 subs, I proceeded to the register why I was informed by the manager he would not accept my giftcard, because 'my machine is broke.' Upon further inquiry, the individual who represented himself as the manager became extrmely rude and disrespectful towards me. I was on the verge of leaving the establishment without the subs but was unable due to time constraits of allocting an alternative lunch. There was not a sign or any form of notice that gift cards would be accepted. I paid with my creditcard and still the manager continued to extremely rude. After lunch, I placed a complaint on subway.com's feedback section. I immediately recieved an automated response that said your feedback is appricaited. This unfortunate situation has yet to be resolved.

I would like a customer service representative to contact me to resolve this unfavorable transaction.

The manager could have called the toll free number on the back of the
card to get the total amount left on the card but then that would not
have been very fair to the other customers I am assuming were waiting
since it was lunch time.

Is there a different machine other than the credit card one that they
use? Maybe I am being a bit ignorant since I never use credit cards,
but when I use my Subway gift cards it looks as if its swiped thru the
same machine as the gift cards...but again I may be wrong.
