Suntrust unwilling to help customers

Posted Mon August 22, 2011 2:22 pm, by Allison M. written to SunTrust Banks, Inc.

Write a Letter to this Company

We sold our home and bought another in july; We closed on both houses July 8, 2011. Our old loan with Suntrust was we thought paid off after we closed. On August 16, 2011 we get a letter stating that we are 2 months behind and that they have put it on our credit report. We have wire confirmation receipts and a confirmation number that suntrust received our Payoff on July 11, 2011. They are insisting that it was August 16, 2011 before they got it. They are very rude and unwilling to help and will not give receipt as to when they got the money. Also they are saying it will take 60 days to get it off our credit. What do we do to get it off our credit and clear this up?

I would like Suntrust to take it off our credit; we did not wire the funds and had no access to money after July 8, 2011. I would like it taken off before 60 days as it was not our fault. An apology for the time and frustration and to admit that they made the mistake.

You need to talk to the esrow/title agency. it is their job to clear
these matters up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you got a notice in August that you
were 2 months behind; then sending them a payoff in July would make
that a late payment correct?

If you owed the money in June (2 months before August) you were late
already.

Sounds like it deserves to be on your credit report.
