threatened by a taco bell employee

My family went to dine at the Charleston Town Center mall Taco Bell with friends unaware it was close to closing time. We ordered our food and after we paid an employee came over and told the cashier they were going to close the grill to not allow any more grill orders. We waited for our food and a bag was slid across the counter with all the food in one bag. We went to a table and I began to hand my kids the food. Two of my kids food was not in the bag. A quesadilla and a triple layer nacho. But three extra tacos were in the bag. I went back to the counter to inform them I was missing food. One of the employees comes out and tells me very rudely, “the grill is closed, we are not making your quesadilla, you need to pick an item of equal or lesser value, you have $3.06, what do you want?” I said “What do you mean you are not going to make it? You told the cashier after I ordered that you were going to close the grill, you grilled my snackito and now because you messed up and didn’t finish my order I have to go tell my 13 year old that she can’t get what she ordered?” He again very rudely says “Ma’am, you are standing in front of me right now and I am telling you, the grill is closed what do you want in replacement for your items? The grill is closed, we are cleaning it since we close soon.” I became flustered and told him I didn’t know because it was not my food that was missing. So I went and got my husband to talk to the guy to see if we could get the food we paid for. My husband also got nowhere with the guy and he just kept telling him pick something else. I went back to the counter and told them that I would not be upset if I had been informed when we ordered that my items were not going to be made, but they had made mine on the grill and then refused to make my daughters who I ordered at the exact same time. The employees continued to have attitudes with us and refused refunds or to make what was ordered and expected my daughter to eat three beef tacos when she ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla. The friend we were dining with came to the counter and asked what was going on. She told them they needed to finish my order they messed up on. Now by this time we were all upset and our voices were raised as well as the employees voices. We asked to speak to manager and was informed the lady we were talking to was the manager. She told my friend that she had been dealing with people like her all day and was tired of it. My friend said you haven’t been dealing with me, I just got here. The manager in return leaned over the counter and told my friend very loudly, and I quote “ I am going to come across the counter and kick your ass bitch”. In the end we never did receive our order or a refund. I am aware this may seem petty considering it was over fast food, but the employee had no right to have attitude in the beginning, nor did the manager have any right to cuss at or threaten my friend. We reported it to mall security but the employees denied any incident. The head of mall security told us to make sure we called mall management first thing Monday and report it to them as well.
I would like Taco bell to address this issue with the employees and make sure it does not happen again.

Jeez, sounds like that the employees had a real attitude problem here. I'm glad you two went to the mall security, but you should've also went to the cops as well. Just a thought.

"equal or lesser value"? What an attitude.
Also, there is NO need to begin cleaning the grill until the restaurant is officially closed.
You should have called the cops.

I didn't even get past halfway in the letter, because "No" was stated several times, and it was not accepted as an answer. This always leads to larger problems.
I can tell you what happens when a grill that has been shut down is used to cook food, because they gave me a burger "cooked" on a shut down grill at Ruby Tuesday's. It was completely uncooked inside.
I don't know about you, but for me I won't be asking for food off a shut down grill It is true - these employees, who are probably making close to minimum wage, have to go home. Cleaning a grill takes time, and they can't just turn it back on once it is off. It isn't their fault you came in at closing time. They made a mistake, and offered you credit for food items that did not require the grill.
Calling someone a "bitch" is unacceptable. Maybe a less crude, but equally effective term could be chosen in the future.
