NO MORE CHEESE PLEASE!

I visit taco bell quite frequently. You are the only reasonably healthy choice in fast food, and as a young Professional I find myself on the go alot. Your food is delicious as well as affordable and there are always new menu choices availible to try.

I recently developed an alergy to milk products. This means I cannot have cheese on my tacos, or burritos, etc.

On at least five recent visits to taco bell, my ordering everything "witchout cheese" was ignored. The first time I just thought it an honest mistake. But five times? This is really boarderline negligence. I could end up in the hospital for eating cheese. This is not the fault of Taco Bell employees, but many people are alergic to dairy, shouldent they pay attention to how food is ordered to prevent any negative health-related problems? I really love your food, but I am now forced to consider taking my business elsewhere.

The branches I visit most often are in Auburn NY, Syracuse NY, and Fairmount NY, although I visit when out of state as well.

I would like you to inform your employees, especially at the branches listed above, but also at all your branches, to be careful not to include chesse when orders are placed specifically without it. This is a very important issue with health concerns for many people. It would also be nice to have a refund for the many times I have now had to throw out my lunch due to finding out later that it contained cheese I could not eat. Thank you in advance for your time and attention in this matter.

Depending on your profession, maybe contacting a professional may be
the way to go. (if you are a gasto enterologist, then you may be
exempt).

Lactose Intolerance is not a laughing matter, but it can be controlled
or sometimes reversed by making certain dietary choices. Lactaid makes
enzyme tablets to help people with your condition visit Taco Bell on a
frequent basis without having to worry too much about cheese.

Good Luck!

Why do you keep telling people you're a young professional? Are you
trying to impress them?

I, too, cannot eat cheese. I can't count the number of times that
food establishments, from fast food to fancy-smhancy places have
ignored the request.

It's important, so I ALWAYS check my food and I return it.

On a recent trip, I asked for "no cheese" (on my chicken
sandwich) and they brought it with (melted) cheese. When I tried to
sent it back, the waitress seemed reluctant (perhaps because she'd
have to pay for the mistake) and said that I didn't ask for "no
cheese." Someone at my table piped in "actually he did.
He's allergic. Unless you want to call 911 in a few minutes, I
suggest that you take it back."

It came back with the top half of the chicken sawed off. Small bits
of the melted cheese remained on the sides.

This was a $12 chicken sandwich at a sit-down place.

While this sort of act of aggression is unlikely the case, it's been
my experience that people simply don't appreciate the request. Chefs
feel offended that you're messing with their creations. And (some)
fast food employees are so robotic that they can't make changes. I
was at a McDonald's yesterday that promised 60 second delivery of your
to-go order (or it's free). Part of how they manage that is that they
just throw together your meal.

As for Taco Bell, I'm found that they are the worst. I rarely eat
there, but when I do, I usually have to make a return. I can only
guess that the Taco Bell model is more "throw it together in a
robotic fashion" than "Have it Your Way" Burger King.

Wendy's, in my experience, is the best. I've never had them mess up
an order.

As a waitress when someone orders a burger/salad etc
"without" something, I write it on the bill (ie: *NO
onions)* and hand it in to the kitchen.
When someone says to me "Without *blank* because I'm allergic, I
write *********NO ONIONS******** ******ALLERGY*******
I realize that at Taco Bell, it's automated, but if you mention the
allergy they might go the extra mile. It's a shame that it has to
come to that, but it's often more effective.

A guy I used to work with is allergic to vegetables. Yes, that's
right, vegetables. He can't have lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc on
anything he eats unless they are thoroughly cooked. And if he orders
something without vegetables, and they're on there anyways, he can't
eat the item. I can't tell you the number of times he's had to throw
an entire meal away because someone didn't read the order slip.

So, yes, this is a valid complaint, but it also means you have to be
vigilant in your food intake and check every single order that you get
BEFORE you leave the restaurant. And at this point, asking for a
refund for food you already paid for weeks ago (and didn't complain
about at the time) isn't going to have much of an impact.

I have a girlfriend who is allergic to eggs. When we go out to eat
chinese food, she always has to request it be made without eggs,
especially in the rice which she loves. Nine of ten times the egg is
in there, but she knows to stay at that counter and repeat that order
until they fix it. It's annoying but when you order out and it is an
item that normally has eggs or cheese in it, it is a habit of the
employees to put it. You do have to check it before you drive off with
it. Not that you should have to, but unfortunately, you do have to.
