My big issue is I have applied for the target credit card on 12/14/2011 and was declined due only to inquries with an equifax fico of 709 of which I attained 12/14/2011 from my fico.com and am ver annoyed by the Fact of other much lower score being approved and not being even reconsidered due to such shallow denial reason. I just want a cl to be able to get 5 percent off with my employee discount and build credit history. I Can be contacted at 774-641-5586 my name is Matthew carlile

Interesting thread about unfair lending practice. Countrywide
Financial was one of the biggest mortgage lenders until 2008, when the
lender almost went belly-up. Bank of America bought the lender, and is
now responsible for $335 million. Article resource: href="https://personalmoneynetwork.com/moneyblog/2011/12/21/unfair-len

Only trust the credit score directly from the 3 credit reporting
agencies. I would never trust a score from some random website. As
others have posted, there are other factors involved in approving or
denying credit besides your score. The score you claim to have of 709
may not even be accurate. Your credit score at the other agencies may
be lower. Besides, a mere 5% off is not worth the interest rate you
have to pay on the balance on the card.

How do you know much lower scores have been accepted? Unless you work
in the credit department its illegal for you to be going through
credit apps.

Also it could be a lower score was accepted because they had a co
signer, better income, or less debt.
