Poor Customer Service & Staffing - Parker, CO Store

I am a customer who has a serious beef to pick with Target. I'm not sure if my concern is company policy, a problem with my local Target, or a regional thing, but I want to bring this to the attention of Target Management. Every time I shop at my local store in Parker, Colorado, I have to wait far too long to check out. There are never more than 3 checkers at the registers, and the Express Lanes are NEVER EVER OPEN!!! In stores the size of SuperTarget, one express lane should be open on either end of the store in addition to checkers on the other (non-express) lanes. I've complained about this to the Store Manager and the Assistant Store Manager but nothing ever seems to happen. I'm just home from a quick trip to Target today where I only had two items. The store was full, with only three checkers (surprise surprise) and at least 3-4 people waiting in every lane. Someone with a hand radio was requesting additional checkers and I asked him about the Express Lanes, he said it was policy to have three checkers in the non-express lanes and that the express lanes were rarely if ever open anymore. All the while, he continued to just stand in the rear of the checkout lanes instead of jumping in to help out and clear out the waiting customers. If this is truly Target policy, please let me know. I will certainly be glad to take my business elsewhere where I don't have to wait 15 minutes to check out with a container of Woolite and a bag of apples! However, if this is just a staffing game the Store Manager is playing, well it ain't working... If it keeps up I'm sure I won't be the only customer crossing the street to the Super Walmart which always has most of its lanes open!!!
Keep the Express Lanes open on either end of Target stores!

Wow do you know nothing about retail or even how things have beem lately. Odds are they only had three people on because that was all they had for that shift. Plus there are other areas to pay. You could have paid in eletronics.
And for the person who said you do not pull the last person. You are wrong. You are suppose to pull t he last person. Because odds are the person who is next in line already has stuff up on the belt and if you called them they would have to pull everything off.
Now I do not work at Target. But I have chasiered at Wal-Mart when I am injured. They say to pull the cutomers at the end of the line to shorten lines.

If this policy still holds true...my Target opened an express register every 4th lane. So, three regular registers were open, then an express, then three additional regular registers, then an express.
The rational for having a manager up front that does not cashier is that he/she is avail for price checks, change, cashier difficulty, etc. That way, guests checking out do not have to wait for a floor manager to walk all the way up front. That being said, Target's policy for registers used to be one guest checking out plus one in line. Any more than that, call back up. If this still holds true, that store needed to call for back up sooner. Hopefully this will be a reminder to that particular store via corporate.

I hate Target.
The only time we go in there is when someone unknowingly thinks I like Target for a Giftcard, like for Christmas.
Well once again, I got another. Some contest my wife won at work.
Anyway, we go in there. I didnt look at express lanes. I just saw two guys checking out without their light on.
My wife motioned for us to go in there, I said, their light is off, they are closing.
So we stood in the longer line nearby. One came and motioned for us to get in line
We got in line, out of order btw, and he started checking us out. I asked why his light was not on. He stated they were just helping out with the lines. I replied back, how are you helping, if you dont turn your light on, nobody knows you are open, they are all walking by to which he had no answer
On top of that, he picked us out of line, out of order.
You always pick the customer that closest to checking out, never the one last in line. Because the one closest has been waiting the longest.
I dont get target, prefer not to go in their either.
You might have better luck at a regular style grocery store.
Good Day

because of the recession retailers have to cut employee hours. since the manager has to be free in case of problems of course he cant be on a registar.
