Target Firearms Policy

I have been attempting to have a question regarding a clarification on a Target corporate policy. I started this "adventure" 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I have made no less than 6-7 phone calls going through various levels of customer service agents. Each time I am told that someone would get in contact with me. I provided the initial customer service agent my telephone number and email address. After each telephone call to Target customer service NO ONE has contacted whatsoever! I cannot get a single person in the Target Corporation to return even one of my calls. This is a corporation that DOES NOT care about you & I as customers. I consider this a total waste of my time & effort.

If you have ANY problems with Target Corporation don't bother wasting your time calling customer service. It's an exercise in futility to get any kind of successful resolution if you have a question about a serious issue of corporate policy. I'm just disgusted at the poor level of response that Target has when a customer has a question of corporate policy.

Thoroughly Disgusted!

I would like Target Corporation to return even ONE phone call or email. In all the calls I have made to CS, NO ONE has bothered to return one single telephone call whatsoever! They have my email address as well as my telephone number.

They do need to get back with you, whatever your issue. Ignoring is
not acceptable.

I know some people have posted comments below about "Target", but
since this is a Firearms issue, is there possibly another "Target
Corporation" (or variation thereof) out there that actually deals with
guns to which this complaint may be directed? Just a thought after
seeing the other discussions.

THe issue here isn't firearms policy or anything like that--it's
Target's inability to respond to the OP. Unless this is a matter of
"We've answered his question and he keeps wanting to escalate because
he wants to change our corporate policy with regard to firearms,"
which it very well could be, they need to respond to him.

I've written a few letters to Target via PFB and have had responses
every single time.

Not returning calls is a problem. However, I'm suspecting that you
have a complex issue that's not on their standard list. Just a
guess.

If that's the case, it might take time to actually find someone that
can fairly answer your question. Or, yes, someone might have simply
given up trying.

I'd be curious as to what your question was. That might shed some
light on the best way to get an answer. For example, if you're asking
about waiving a policy against bringing a loaded weapon into the
store, I'd say that "customer service" isn't going to be the best way
to go. (This isn't excusing them from ignoring you, however.) This
is an issue that needs to be addressed by their legal office or even
the executive office.

The problem, of course, is that it's next to impossible for the
average consumer to get the right contact information. Customer
service reps often say "I don't have any contact information," which
leaves you stuck.

Finding this contact information requires the customer to seek it out,
in other ways. Usually, the "contact us" link on the web site isn't
what you want (it's what you already tried). Instead, look for
"Corporate Information" or even "Press Information" (be aware that if
you're not press, the press office will often simply ignore you).
There might be a switchboard number, corporate address, or list of
specialized phone numbers. You may also want to look at their
investors information, since this may point to contact information for
the legal office.

For example, their "corporate responsibility report" includes a phone
number, which may lead you to a switchboard where they can direct you
to the appropriate place.

Good luck.

and don't forget - when it comes to handling firearms, target policy will NOT trump local laws n/t by PepperElf Fri July 31, 2009 @ 9:51 AM

What is the policy that you are seeking clarification on?

If they don't sell firearms, maybe they feel there is nothing to
discuss.

If I want to talk firearms, I go to good old Walmart. The people
behind the firearms counter are more than happy to discuss things that
shoot and shooting things.
