Please bring back Target Formula in the Value Size

My son's pediatrician recommended that we use a soy based formula because he is breastfed. She suggested he would have an easier time digesting it.

We tried the Enfamil and the Similac that we were given samples of at the hospital, but we had a hard time getting him to drink a full bottle of either. At more than $20 a can for something our baby didn't see to like, we didn't seem to have any other options.

One day while shopping at our local Target, we came across a large canister of the Target Brand soy formula. It was 40 oz as opposed to the 24 oz cans that are usually found in the Enfamil and Similac. And it was on clearance for half off the sticker price of $15.99.

We bought a canister, figuring at $8, if he hated it too, we weren't out that much. As luck would have it, he took to it easily. We quickly went back and bought up as many cans as we could. We went back tonight as we have finally exhausted our "stash" only to find that you no longer offer the value 40 oz cans at all.

Meade and Abbot Labs sell their formula in the 24 oz cans for nearly twice what the Target brand runs and the 40 oz can was a lifesaver. While I will still continue to purchase the smaller can of your formula because my son has done so well on it, I'd really like to see you bring back the 40 oz value can.

I'd also like to see more advertising done for the Target brand formula. As any mom can tell you, formula isn't cheap and finding something that works for a reasonable price is fortunate! I frequently get coupons from Target in the mail for various baby products, but have never once seen a Target formula coupon included.

Parents need options and I for one would be happy to promote the value of Target's formula - I have several friends in an online parenting community as well as a few friends who are pregnant who would be thrilled to learn of a quality product for their babies that could save them money. It would be a great tie in on the Target Baby Registry too!

Please consider bringing back the larger 40 oz value cans and offer coupons in the mailer packs. You'd be making lots of parents and babies happy and healthy!

I am a huge advocate of breastfeeding, but if you need to/choose to
supplement or exclusively use formula, try Sam's Club (if you are a
member). They have a 3.5 lb can for $19 in their brand (Members
Mark). It isn't soy based, however as a lactation consultant, I am
confused as to why soy based formula was recommended to you unless
your child is lactose intolerant, and considering that she/he is/was
breastfed I am assuming that is not the case.
