Potentially dangerous incident at a store

I was at your Target store in Copiague, NY yesterday 9/9/11 at approximately 5:30 when there was an incident near the check out area. A customer came up to the front of the store and said that a man had been harassing him and following him through the store. The customer said that the man asked him for money and when he told him no, the man continued to follow him throughout the store. The customer came to the front of the store hoping to get security or the manager. The man followed him to the front of the store and remained there and started yelling at the customer and cursing at him. While this was happening the customer was asking the Target employees to call security or get the manager. The customer was concerned that this man might try to harass someone else or follow him or another person into the parking lot. None of the employees knew what to do. They said they didn't have any way to contact anyone. Eventually the manager came up - I'm not certain if it was on her own or if another customer went to try to find someone. By that time, the man had left on his own.
I've seen security by the front door of this store on other occasions. I'm not sure if there is always a security guard on duty or not. However, I think it is important that all employees get trained on what to do when there is an incident such as this. They should have access to walkie talkies or a telephone at their registers (they said they had access to neither). Luckily this man left before he got violent, but it did seem as though he was on the verge of getting violent. And then we didn't know if he might be somewhere in the parking lot ready to do something.
I urge you to educate all of your employees about how to handle situations such as this.
Regards,
Veronica Varricchio
