I went into my local target store today to purchase a bag of Iams cat food, along the way I saw there was a good promotion going on for the glade candle products. It just so happended that I had some coupons on me in my coupon book, to make this glade promotion even better. I purchased 5 glade tins and had
(5) 1.25 coupons to use on them, then I also picked up 5 glade oil refils, which I had a(5) coupons that would make them free when you purchased the glade tins. Well when I was cashing out, I was told I could not use the coupons together saying they were being doubled. This was not the case, I used the coupons within the terms on them marked. I am upset becasue a fellow target guest cashed out in another lane with the same items and all her coupons were accepted. With it being a very long day after work I just bought the items, with the intent on contacting target to help straighten out this matter. I spent a total of 28.81 today, while I should have paid 6.25 less with the omitted coupons. Since it was right before 10:00 I figured the cashier was not wanting to be bothered with this transaction. Here is some of the information from the reciept for you to look up for verification purposes. rec#2-9293-1057-0076-3920-7 vcd#750-251-444
I would like to recieve a gift card for the total of 6.25 for the amount of the coupons that I was not allowed to use on my purchase, even though I purchased the appropriate items. I intend on doing more shopping at my local target since my sister in law in pregnant, and I would hate for this bad guest service experience to sour my future shopping trips, since I love target so much.

We have people trying to scam with these Glade coupons multiple times a day in my store, literally 2 handbaskets full a day at least. 1 coupon per purchase, not 1 per item, you cannot use a coupon on the item you have to buy in order to get another one free. The old adage, if it looks too good to be true, it is .

You have to admit, you were kinda pushing the envelope here. I see your point, that you had 10 items and 10 coupons, 5 of which were for tins and 5 of which were for refills, but one coupon was contingent on the use of another. Its kinda like going to Mc Donalds with a coupon for a free drink with the purchase of a burger, and then a coupon for a free burger and expecting to pay nothing. Hopefully guest relations will give you a more definitive answer.

How could you possibly see/know what coupons another person, in another lane was using?

I had the same Glade coupons at my local Target. The candles were on sale for $1.29 and with the coupon which was worth $1.25 it basically made it so that I was paying like $0.04 for one candle. I ended up buying 10 candles and using 10 coupons. The cashier took them with no problem. I agree that you should be reimbursed, as having a coupon for each individual item should not be considered "doubling" even if there are multiples of the same item. Let us know if you get a response.
