Problems placing order

I tried to place an order for $200 using promotion code TGT9DDZG on May 26, 2012. I began completing and submitting my order with plenty of time to meet the expiration time of 11:59 pm. Each time I tried to submit my order, I would get an error message. I would have to fill out all of my billing info again. I submitted and resubmitted my order over and over and over. I even asked my husband if there could be something wrong with my credit card.
Well, upon submitting my order one more time, I noticed that the $10 discount was gone. I realized that it was 12.03 am and the promotion code had expired.
I thought that I could call customer service and they would resolve the problem for me. I honestly thought customer service would say, "I am so sorry that you had problems. I will take your order and happily give you the $10 discount. They told me that there were so many people trying to submit orders at the same time that the system would not take my order. She said that she could do nothing about it.
I grudgingly placed my order because I was purchasing something from my daughter's baby registry. This time, the order was completed with no error messages.
I do not believe that this was my fault and that I should be given the $10 discount.
That same night, I emailed customer service and have yet to hear from anyone.
I feel as though my business is not important to Target; therefore, I will not shop at Target unless absolutely necessary.
