Sold more than a bike.

Write a Letter to this Company

I am writing this letter because I would like to share with you the experience I had at your store. It was last Tuesday April 21st at your Potomac Yards location.

I have been to your store several times for sports equipment, and even for my son's school backpack. I have never needed assistance from any of your employees until this last time.

Myself and two of my coworkers walked over to your store around 1:00. I was looking for a bike, and wanted to get a feel for what my options were. I had no idea what kind of bike I was looking for, because I know nothing about bikes.

We were not in your bike section for more than a minute before we were approached by one of your employees. I can't remember his name, but he had long blondish hair and wore a necklace with a scorpion on it. He later told me that he was the bike tech there.

I informed him of my problem, but also told him that I would not be purchasing a bike then and there for various reasons. Knowing all of that, he took the time to explain the different kinds of bikes and what they are good for. He also talked to me about where I was planning on riding and offered me some good options. I left the store feeling very informed and also feeling like this employee cared about his customers.

I came back later that night with my husband, and I was very happy to see that this employee was still there. Because of my height, my husband wanted me to get a much shorter bike than I wanted. The bike tech shared more knowledge with the two of us and helped us pick out a bike. He talked to us about your extended warranty, and although it sounded like a fantastic deal, my husband was not interested. Should my new bike need any maintenance or repairs, I am definitely going back to your store.

Your employee is a great example of amazing customer service. I still need to purchase my husbands bike and son's bike, and I look forward to making those purchases at your store. Please recognize your bike tech for having such great customer service and for being a fantastic sales person. Also recognize him for sharing his knowledge and being so patient even with a customer that he knew he was not going to sell anything to right away. Thank you for reading this letter.
