Confusing Option Packages

Posted Mon April 9, 2007 11:51 am, by Ajay M. written to Toyota Motor Corporation

Write a Letter to this Company

I have been a Toyota owner for 11 years now and have been absolutely delighted with my Camry. Very recently, we decided to buy a van and decided on buying the 2007 Sienna. The dealership was absolutely professional and I have to admit, truly fantastic in the way they worked with me and handled the entire transaction.

The one thing that truly disappointed me was the option paskages. They are so confusing! While I agree it is almost impossible to create an option package that caters to everyone's needs, the features are so vastly distributed across the current packages, it was almost impossible to choose.

In the end, I ended up just buying the base model of the car. The car is great, but I sincerely request that the option packages be readdressed and made simpler and easier to choose. Even my super helpful salesperson at the dealership was frustrated with them and at not being able to help me!

Nice Letter.

The sad part is that it is the same with most companies. The option
packages is where they make a lot of money. By keeping them messed up,
people are forced to upgrade to the next higher package to get that
one thing that they really want.

It would have been nice if you had given some examples related to the
confusion.
