Lack of communication on returns (electronic item)

Posted Mon July 30, 2012 9:42 pm, by kim b. written to Toysrus.com

Write a Letter to this Company

I am furious at the lack of service I received at Toysrus. I spend thousand of dollars at Toyrus and the one time I need to take something back they give me pushback. I purchased and Kindle Fire a week ago. I open the box and had a look at the device. I decided it was the item I was looking for. I called to find out the return policy as the salesperson that sold it to me never once said there was no return policy on electronic items. At least Best Buy they will take it back for a small restocking fee. I then called there 800 number for help. They said a manager would call me back. They did 2 days later. The person was not helpful basically said no returns. No help...

I would like the Porter Ranch store to fix there signage by electronics. Retrain there people on return policys. I would like my full refund.

Sincerly Kim Beetlestone

But your letter says you 'opened the box and had a look at the device.
I decided it was the item I was looking for.' Why would you want to
return something that was what you were looking for?

Interesting: I went to their website, read the return policy and
found nothing that said electronics can't be returned. I searched at
the toys r us website for the kindle fire, found it, clicked on it,
and nowhere did I see anything that said it can't be returned due to
being an electronic device.

I question whether you were told the truth when you tried to return
it.

It is the customer's responsibility to read the back of their receipt.
The return policy is indicated on the back of the receipt. If you had
any questions regarding their return policy, you should have asked
before leaving the store.

So no refund for you.

Do more research next time. Most places have a zero return policy on
electronics, games, DVDs, BlueRay etc. once opened. I am also sure
there are more than one sign in the store itself with the return
policy on it.

And if you werent sure you should have asked while you were there.
Sorry no return for you.

Most stores have the return policy printed on the back of the receipt.
Did you even bother to try the Kindle Fire before you bought it? Many
stores have it as a live display, meaning you can try the different
functions before you decide to buy it.

I rarely return anything because I research most purchases before I
buy them. Nearly every store has the same policy regarding returning
electronics, no returns on opened product, exchange for the same item
only.
