local number confusion

I bought a tracfone and was given a long distanct number from my calling area. I called the company and talked to a rep. explained that the number my phone was activated on was long distance not a local. One rep. checked with suppervisor and other depts. and said yes there was a local numb. available but had to transfer me to another dept. to have it changed over.I was on hold for 5 min. then the new rep. had no idea about situation so i had to explain all this again. He comes back to say there is no numb. that is open and he can't help me and that the numb. i was originaly given was in fact not a long dist. numb.I had to argue that anyone that calls has to pay long dist. charges.I can understand if there was not a numb. that was open at the time and would gladly have tried back at a later time when one might have opened up but i don't feel that i should have had to talk to 3 different reps. and spend over 45 min. of my time to go thru this even after i have given them my interaction numb. that i was given on 1st day of activation that already explained this situation.i feel that i was given a run around and that there is no communacation between depts. when your are transfered. If i can not get a local number with in my 30 days i will send phone back and go elsewhere.

communicate with one another better when transferred. be able to hear and understand what reps are saying over the phone because of background noise.

i'd say to call back and claim you moved

they'll have to send you a new sim card

i did it... tho in my case i really did move.

only trouble i had was... they sent me the sim card and then when i
called up to get a number put on it, i originally flubbed my zip code,
and even though i corrected it... the csr i think wasn't paying
attention and kept saying the zip didn't exist

when i finally said "it worked well enough for you to send me the sim
card" she gave me a new number
