Safelink Rip Offs and Idiot Customer Service In India

Tracfone Wireless the owner of Safelink wireless are idiots. I had a safelink phone and I meet all eligibility. I moved to the next town over and accidentally washed my safelink phone. I called "customer disservice" and was told that I would have to "reapply" for safelink. I was told to wait two weeks and reapply. I did so. Now it says my application was rejected due to ineligibility but on the website it says "applications received and approved." Meanwhile, the US tax payers are paying continually for a phone that I don't have. This is called FRAUD!

No one in customer service understand the freaking English language.

I'm going to inform Fox News what sort of scam safelink is running. I won't stop until the entire nation knows what's going on.

Now, you ignore me, ignore that national news and the American public.

Either give me the phone or stop charging the freaking government for it.

I was googling to see if anyone else was having probs w/their safelink
phone & this post came up. I have one also that has been inoperable
for some time now, contacted cust service & keep getting the bs line
"due to unusually high call volumes we cannot accept your call..." &
hangs up on me. I spoke to someone last week & they sent me a new sim
card & went through some things for me to do to the phone, told me to
wait an hour & make a call. WEll, it still is not working. Minutes
won't load. Like I said, I can't get through to their 800# so I
emailed a tech request 2 times & still no response!! So, yes- I
believe they are running a scam to get $$ from the government. They
sure as hell aren't spending any money by providing the service
intended but they're getting a big old fat check from the taxpayers.
Who can we complain to about this?? Now it makes me really nervous to
know I gave these people personal information about myself. Oh & they
changed my ph # to a long distance # so anytime anyone needs to
contact me they're being charged for a ld ph call!! What a joke!!

Problems with Safelink by Deborah E. Mon September 3, 2012 @ 4:46 PM

Customer service for telephones shouldn't be based in India, period. I
am sick to death trying to explain problems to people who cannot speak
nor understand English.

Case in point, a man rented a room from me and got one of these
phones, then moved out. I have tried multiple times to tell these
people he no longer lives here; apparently the idea of someone renting
a place to live and then moving out is beyond their comprehension.

What does it take to get a person removed from an address within their
records?

The thing to do is cancel the service. In fact, you are obligated to
have service terminated upon loss of the phone.

The government (read taxpayers) will NOT continue to pay for it, once
it's canceled. However, you bear the responsibility for having it
canceled.

There is no fraud on TracFone's part, if you've asked them to keep the
phone active.

Note that once the government-sponsored minutes are expired by you
notifying TracFone, the phone can still be used by someone buying
regular TracFone minutes.

So, unless TracFone told you that they won't cancel the
government-sponsored minutes, despite your request for them to do so,
they have committed no fraud simply because you are the one
responsible.

Here's the link to cancel the service: http://tinyurl.com/ygfslh2. I
suggest that you do this immediately.
