Upgrade Expense

Tracfone informed me that I needed to upgrade to a new phone because of their network upgrade. They sent me a new phone Motorola v170, which is a cheap phone to replace my Motorola V60i phone, which is an upgraded phone that I purchased a few years ago. I was originally told by customer service that I would receive the same model phone that I have. That was not true. I then called customer service, and I was told that the phone sent was the only option that they were giving. I have almost 600 minutes on my phone. I have since purchased a new Motorola W370 phone at full price.

This upgrade was a business decision that Tracfone made. I should not have to suffer financially. I am out $43.49 for a new phone that I did not need before the upgrade. I want compensation for my added expense

I graciously recieved my free phone after the identical issue
happened. The reason for the change to begin with was because that
model phone (and the upgraded model) are incompatible with the new
system.

What you received is a reconditioned phone with the same guarantee as
a new one. They were not obligated to give us anything, they did us a
favor. There is no replacement guarantee on their contract.

They sent you a phone for free that would work on their upgraded
network, it was your choice to purchase another phone so they are not
going to give you any compensation for it.
