Please reference previous case # 13158086. (Roaming while in the home area - 60901)I tried to redo the codes again from the tech support line here and still no resolution. Cingular was no help as far as why I am roaming on their network, they want me to use their service. I would rather not but am contemplating it at this point. I have called numerous times to tracfone and gotten no where. The last guy was more help by adding 30 units for the time we have spent while on roam in my home area. His solution was to get a new phone and start over with a new #. I'd rather not but what are my options and who pays for the new phone ? What about my time still remaining on this phone ? If I do get a new phone this one can't be shut off until I know the other one is working.... the past couple weeks have been very disappointing with you all.

Bascially I entered all this info into the tracfone database and got an error stating that they could not process my question at this time. It's getting old. Paying double units, lousy response, it's the local providers issue and they haven't got back to us yet, and hey just get a new phone.

I don't want anything but to have a prepaid phone like the cheap one I've got that works without having to pay for double units roaming in the home area. That's it, no more no less. Ok, less run around with the service dept. but that is how they are trained I suppose.

Hi Chris,

Do you have a "single rate" TracFone? If yes, then there is no such
thing as roaming.

Cingular uses GSM technology. All TracFone models that use GSM
technology are "single rate".

With "single rate" TracFone(s), it doesn't matter where you are in the
USA or what carrier it locally uses, its all "single rate" (i.e.,
free roaming).

Mayhe I am confused.

Question: How do you know you are "roaming" on Cingular's network?
What is your home network,
and how did you find out your home network?

What model TracFone are you having all the roaming problems with?
