Brown did it, for the last time

I paid for overnight delivery on Dec 20, expecting delivery on Monday, Dec 22. It was mis-routed, so the date was extended to Tuesday, Dec 23. When it didn't show this evening, I called about it, and was told it had just reached some distribution point, and wouldn't be delivered to Dec 24. I explained that this was medical equipment, and could I pick it up? They said they would call back in 15 minutes. An hour later I called again - no trace of the previous call, but they put in a message to the distribution center, who would call back shortly. Another hour goes by, no calls back, so I call again. I am told that the distribution center has "committed to contacting me by 10am to following day", and that they are closed, so I cannot pick up my meds or medical equipment.
This is completely un-acceptable - not only a 4 day turn-around on an over-night delivery, but the un-willingness to even have me pick up the package.
I want the package first thing in the morning, or be called to pick it up first thing, and I want a refund.

I'm surprised that you paid for overnight delivery on Saturday and expected it to arrive on Monday. Usually I don't count Saturdays or Sundays when figuring out how many days it will take something to arrive, although with it being the last weekend before Christmas it's possible that things are different.
That said, you should definitely have gotten it on Tuesday. Getting it on Wednesday is only 2 days by my count (because Saturday and Sunday are non-days) unless they worked one or two days this weekend and not 4, and I'd think you'd have gotten good service if you had paid for 2nd-day air service and great service if you had paid for ground, but if you paid for overnight, you should have gotten your stuff by Tuesday.
Given that you didn't get it on Tuesday -- even if there was a very good reason such as flights being grounded for a key leg of the trip -- I think you should get a refund. You didn't get the service you paid for. I'm not assuming that UPS did anything wrong. The problem may have been out of their control. But you paid for overnight shipping and you should have gotten it -- and they should make sure their shipping charges are high enough that they can afford to refund people when things go awry.
That said, I would be very worried about getting medical equipment and medications sent to you, especially at this time of year. I've done it -- after I became unable to use my old crutches (I'm trying to retain what mobility I have and to improve it to the point that I can use crutches outside of my home) I waited until the last minute before ordering new ones, and I ended up paying for my lasck of planning -- but it's not a great idea. I hope that either the company you deal with finds a better way to send things or that you find another company with which to work.

Oh yes, THE LAST TIME !!!
Same here, they lost my documents and now I'm in a country without a status.
How much they will refund for this?
A plane ticket, the procedure for new passport via embassy, 700$ in fee I paid for the govermental services, all my original documents and the one of my husband.
How much you think I should ask for this?
And the guy in the store knew what's inside and promised us that it will be there till Monday.
Out for delivery since 6 am till now?
My ***
NEVER EVER AGAIN

This morning (Christmas eve day) my hubby (UPS driver) went to work to find out that his truck was near empty. Then he was told by management that four tracktor trailers were stuck up north in a snowstorm. So he went out to deliver what little he had, but later in the day those trucks made it down and he was met with a truck which loaded his truck with a ton of stuff, and he worked late and delivered every bit of it.
I agree this is unacceptable, and they should at the very least refund your money for this!

No matter the time of year or whether there's snow or not, if UPS can't get it to you overnight, they shouldn't take your money and make the promise.
And if they say they're going to call you back, they should call you back.
You have every right to be upset with them and they should refund your money.

Give them a break right now. One, there are a LOT of packages right now. And two, I don't know where you are, but where I am (Oregon) we, like a lot of the Country right now are surrounded by a LOT of snow. More then we normally get. I truck could have gotten stuck, the road may have closed. In some areas it just isn't safe to drive. They are VERY busy right now. They know packages are going to be late. There is nothing they can do about it. They feel bad about it too. One question, though: If it was needed medical stuff, why did you wait untill you were so low? I am not picking on you or anything. I just wonder if there was something else. Are you snowed in like the rest of us?
