I ordered two different things at two different times. I haven't received either yet. The drivers knock once and then run, my mom who is on a walker didn't have enough time to even get to the door, when she did the driver was obviously already gone since they knock and run...on top of that, for some reason they have a signature required on the package, well I work full time downtown...it takes me an hour to get home...forty five minutes if I'm lucky. By the time I get home I usually have "Info Notice" first attempt on my door. Well, I ask if since it requires a signature if it could be delivered on a Saturday since I'll be off.He told me since it's ground that the it's only Monday-Friday and he couldn't guarentee I'd still get delivery on the second attempt even though I requested he make me the last person. He said he couldn't re-route him. He said that I could pick up the package at the UPS location (central warehouse).I told him it's out of my way, I've paid for the product and service, that is the whole purpose of UPS is to have it delivered so you won't have to pick it up. It's at least 20 minutes away from me.He indirectly called me a lier and told me he use to live in another part of town close to me and it only took him 7-10 minutes. I ask if I could pick it up at the UPS retail store . He said no.Well, hell!I've tried to work with them on this problem so as a customer I'm very unsatisfied.Brown can't do anything for me apparently. This just doesn't work for me since if you only deliver ground packages Monday-Friday to a resident and it requires a signature...you have to know that people work usually Mon-Fri and they aren't home to sign anything( they usually deliver early)..how the heck am I gonna get a package if they don't deliver when I know I'll be at home.As of today,I still don't have my package and I've paid for the suppose to be fast service again Brown hasn't done anything for me . You wonder why companies are going bankrupt and people are losing there jobs. People are finding alternatives to companies so they don't have to deal with such problems in return they are losing money. The guy claimed he was a supervisor (rudy or ralph) that I spoke to and he couldn't remove the signature required off the parcel....I will avoid using UPS at any cost even if it takes 14 days to get by mail. It's well worth that instead of my money going out the drain for lousy and rude service that I have no say in how it's handled when I'm paying your salary.Oh yeah, and yesterday at 6 o'clock I came home, just pulled up in my driveway and the UPS guy had just pulled up next door.I'm thinking weird I was expecting a package today and I don't have anything.I wonder if that is really theirs.Well,I was expecting to have him come over here and nothing...so I called the company I ordered from since I knew I was suppose to get my package.Well the UPS driver apparently tried to deliver my package to the wrong address and then put on the tracking information " first attempt to deliver". When I was standing right in my driveway at 6 o'clock wonder if he was coming over to my house.I was thinking well, it's dark outside so maybe he just had the wrong house. Well apparently he did.The tracking information matched the 6 o' clock time and according to the company that is trying to ship the package to me...What kind of service is that. If you have to wrong house that's considered the first attempt.Your drivers really need to watch what they are doing.

According to the rude guy there was nothing you could do.But Faster service, alternatives (saturday delivery),after 6pm delivery if signature is required during the week, just give options. I'm paying the services, you work for me.I don't work for you.Better customer service with educated people. If you are a supervisor act the role.

I could not, or would not, even begin to defend UPS. I ordered a
"Santa" gift for my daughter and paid for 2nd day shipping. The
company I ordered from shipped via UPS. The package was received in
Seattle on 12/21 and sat in Seattle for 3 days due to inclement
weather (I ordered on 12/18). This I could sort of understand as we
had snow. HOWEVER, during this time we were receiving our US Postal
mail, our newspaper, and FedEx deliveries. The package was loaded on
a truck on Christmas Eve for delivery and at 6:57pm it was returned to
the warehouse in my neighborhood. Again, I thought oh well...it
should go back out on Friday after the holiday. THINK AGAIN! It is
now 12/31 and it is still, as of this morning, sitting in the
warehouse. By the way, the local UPS warehouse is not allowing people
to pick up due to the backlog!! I have e-mailed UPS and called twice.
The snow has been completely gone in our area for days. There have
been several articles in our local paper about the poor service of UPS
and questioning why they aren't working overtime to get the backlog
taken care of. It frustrates me to no end to see big companies like
UPS provide such terrible service, especially when small businesses
are trying and going out of business due to the economy. I DON'T use
UPS and from now on I will think twice about ordering from a business
that ships UPS.

I have been waiting for a VERY important Christmas present and it has
been in town for 3 days, on the truck. It is Christmas Eve and I have
called, more than willing to meet the driver or pick it up anywhere on
my own. They said it would come and if for some reason it didn't they
would call. I just checked the tracking and found out that my order
was rescheduled for 5 days from now -- no call, no nothing.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN UPS

It's not Brown's fault that you work, that it takes you an hour to get
home, or that the nearest UPS hub is inconvenient for you. If you only
paid for regular UPS ground, then they're only going to deliver
Mon-Fri between a certain time frame, regardless if you work or not.

They do have options, but you have to pay for them. If you want
Saturday delivery, pay the extra money for it.

As for signatures, usually my regular UPS driver just leaves it on my
front porch. One time, though, they didn't, and when I called UPS to
find out why, I was told that you have to specify with the company
doing the shipping (the one that you made the purchase from) if you
want them to leave the package at your doorstep. If you don't, it is
at the driver's discretion whether to live the package on the front
doorstep or wait for a signature.

Though I can see where they're coming from, I do agree that an
attempted delivery to a wrong address should not be considered a
"first attempt" especially if the incorrect address is clearly the
driver's error.

Oh, and be aware that if the package is too large to fit in your
mailbox, the post office will not deliver it; they will require a
pick-up. They also require signatures for many delivery options as
well.

I've had issues with UPS in the past as well, but when I'm expecting a
package, I leave a note, with my signature, on the door, the day I'm
expecting the package. I can't think of a time when they weren't able
to leave my package. I too work downtown, and have a 90-minute
commute, so going by the hub after work just wouldn't be feasable.

Leaving the signed note asking them to leave it at the door has worked
well for me, but I wouldn't do it for expensive gear (cameras,
electronics), unless it wouldn't be seen by the general public.

My UPS guy beeps/toots his horn as he pulls up to the building I live
in. So, even if I dont hear the truck, that beep means he might have
a package for me (there are 8 units in my building)

I wonder if your driver could do this? The horn sounding could give
your mom advance notice and maybe more time to get to the door while
the driver is getting the package from the truck, etc.

Just a thought to try if you are not willing to use the hub to get
your package.

running. I have never seen a UPS driver run. Walk fast, yes. Run,
no.

Yes, UPS ground delivery is M-F. Saturday? Never. Routing is not
determined by the driver, I believe it is determined by computer for
the most efficient route. And no, they UPS can't "undo" the signature
requirement - the requirement is by the shipper, not UPS.

Yes, the UPS hub is *very* useful if the recipient is flexible,
because the recipent can go there on their own schedule. After work,
for example.

You are being completely inflexible, so Brown will not be able to
handle your shipping needs in a satisfactory manner. "No" doesn't
mean "rude".

They do it to ensure the consignee got what they shipped. UPS cannot
modify that, as it would make them liable if you claimed you didn't
receive it. Ground shipping really is only Monday-Friday. If you
didn't pay for the Saturday delivery, why would you think they should
give it to you for free?
I am not sure why you mention how long it takes you to get home from
work - are you thinking they should just wait there for you? Delivery
drivers from all companies have limited amounts of time to do their
rounds. They cannot just come to your place last, unless they have
several deliveries in your area. Why not just have packages shipped
to your workplace?
