Why Offer Saturday Delivery if You Can't Deliver, UPS?

I paid for a package to be delivered Next Day Air Saturday Delivery. UPS was very quick in charging my card but was unable to deliver on Saturday. Calling your "Customer Service" is almost like talking to a wall. They are unable to assist with anything for instance in tracking and find out what happened to the package. If I pay for Next Day Saturday delivery it should be understood that this is "time-critical" material. I was told by a UPS supervisor that on weekends no one is working to check and track a package. So why do you offer Saturday Delivery. My package was due for the weekend and is no good on Monday.

UPS cost me way more than just the transportation charges. UPS cost me thousands of dollars in business. I could have went Delta Dash for $49 and had the package arrived at the airport same day, but I wanted to avoid the trip to the airport. Fedex is also way cheaper but my printer only ships UPS so I was pretty much forced to use UPS, and of course I was burnt again out of many times. Your "Exception" status that doesn't explain anything obviously means "incompetent employees who are unable to fulfill services that customer pay extra for". This is NOT the first time I experienced this with UPS, it is just that dealing with your Customer Service, claims department, etc. is very time consuming, and in the end nothing changes. I am now sharing this with the public because this is unacceptable.

UPS needs to refund the transportation charges as well as the cost of the package as all this is no longer valid by the time UPS decides to deliver a time critical package.

I agree with you. If the service is called "NEXT DAY AIR SATURDAY
DELIVERY" it should have definitely been delivered on Saturday. I know
it's too late now but next time try FEDEX or USPS. Sorry for your
loss, truly, and they should definitely compensate you.

and no package delivered Saturday. It makes sense.

I was thinking yesterday was Friday. This incident happened the day
following a severe weather incident that rolled though downtown
Atlanta, killed a few people nearby, and created huge delays at the
Hartsfield airport.

It is no wonder your package wasn't delivered, and the CSR's were
probably out cleaning their property on their day off.

Give 'em a break. Oh, I don't think they will refund the price of the
package in any event (if it wasn't lost).

I had a medical package that showed as delivered, but it wasn't. I
called customer service. They were extremelely helpful, and figured
out within 5 minutes the package had been delivered to the wrong
address. They sent a truck from the depot to pick up the package and
bring it to me.

I'm sorry this happened to you, and you are obviously upset. However,
I use UPS often and I have nothing but good things to say about their
delivery, drivers, and customer service. "Exception" can mean many
things, and I think you should wait to find out what it was before
indicting the driver, the company, and the customer service team.

True, they may offer Saturday delivery for a price (which you paid),
but it does make sense there isn't customer service available on the
weekend. There is probably 1% of the normal load delivered on
Saturday.

This letter is in teh 15 minutes of Fame section, showing it was
written by Daniel T of ATLANTA GEORGIA.

For goodness sake, there were tornados and horrible storms in Atlanta
on Saturday.

OF COURSE there was trouble getting dilveries thru. Are you really
expecting drivers to risk their lives for your package?!?!?!

I hate to cone off so bluntly, but please, get serious!!!

Saturday delivery isn't available everywhere. Of course, if that's
the case here, they certainly shouldn't have charged you for it ($10
extra, I think). or led you to believe it could happen.

I'm curious as to how/why the package didn't get delivered.

This can be furstrating, and has happened to me also. By chance did
your package have to travel in or ner Atlanta today? Perhaps the
tornadoes there caused your delay?
