I have had Verizon DSL modem for about 2-3 years, and I have had the same modem for that period. Recently I upgraded the firmware from the Verizon website and it messed up my modem. Now I can't connect wireless devices without rebooting the modem, and I have to do that everytime.
I called Verizon to downgrade the firmware of the modem, but they said they cannot downgrade anymore. And also because my modem is out of warranty that I would have to pay for a new modem.
I thought that it was ridiculous that Verizon who offered the firmware update is asking me to pay for a new modem, when it was that upgrade that messed it up. I have had the modem for 2-3 years without any problems and it started only when this happened.
They asked me why I upgraded? And I don't understand why that matters. I upgraded the modem with the firmware and it just messed it up, and I don't think that I should be the one paying for the new modem.
I would like a brand new free DSL wireless modem sent out to me. I don't expect to pay for a new one, since it was Verizon who cannot downgrade the modem, and it was there firmware that messed my modem up.
