I pay to "rent" their receiver, because I have no choice. The FIOS TV product will not work without a receiver, so there should not be a separate charge for this. When this receiver breaks, Verizon should come to my house and fix or replace it at no charge. Currently, I have to pay $79 for them to come and fix the equipment that I pay for every month. In September of this year I submitted the following letter. Since the letter the channels have been removed from my plan however the charges were never removed and have continued to be accessed fees.

We have just moved in to a new home (condo) that was just complete and unable to get Verizon to update us on when phone or internet service will be install for our home. My household has had Verizon FIOS phone, television (digital cable), and internet for a few years now. I have no complaints about the phone service, nor the internet. However, the television service can be a huge annoyance. If you want to scroll through the channel guide, be prepared for sluggish movement and even moments of freezing. Not too nice when you're rushing to find a show to record....
