Join Me In Class Action Law Suit Against Verizon

Posted Mon September 11, 2006 4:25 pm, by Brad J. written to Verizon Local Telephone (and FIOS)

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

In June of 06 I received a Verizon phone with fabricated phone charges of $75. I called Verizon customer service and they informed me that they could not document the dates when the calls were made and the phone number origins. I then called the assistant to the CEO and vice-chairman of Verizon in NYC. She put me in touch with two other associates that said they would fix the problem and credit my account. Instead of crediting my account, I received more fabricated phone charges on my July, Aug and Sept 06 bill. I then sent a certified letter to Verizon's land line office in Newark, NJ and asked them to explain why I was being overbilled.I never got a reply. I then contacted a class action law firm who was very interested in my case. So if you are being wrongly overbilled by Verizon in anyway, and Verizon refuses to address your complaints,
please e-mail me at: VerizonClassAction711@Yahoo.com I will forward you complaints to the class action attorneys for review.

I want my account credited for all the bogus,
fabricated charges and I want the over-billing to
stop.

In February of 2010 I asked Verizon to combine two phones in the same
location into a single account. What they did however was transfer
all the services I got (DSL, answering, call fowarding, long-distance
plan)from my home office phone to my home phone. When they finally
got the DSL back to my office phone (t was months) they continued to
charge me for two DSLs (both different rates, go figure). They were
simply unable to fix the problem and unable to adjust my bill despite
long, long calls with probably a dozen different customer "service"
reps. The only way I was able to fix it was by closing all the
accounts and getting a new FIOS account for both phones (July). But
guess what? They continued to bill me for DSL on the home phone and
despite all my chats with agents they would not adjust my bill (now
over $1000). So now I get 4-6 calls per day from a collection agency
(IC Systems) and no adjustment despite my telling them time and again
that I will immediately pay a properly rendered bill. So I would love
to join a class action. Peter to PFS666@aol.com.

This is just one problem I am having with Verizon. Moved to Virginia
and set-up a bundle package with home, cell, internet and cable. Spent
1 hour & 45 minutes setting up the account. Was told over and over
again that the total bill wold be $110. I asked =, "Are you sure?"
was told that wsa the final bill. I wasked several times does that
include 3 cell phones and all receivers for the cable. Was told over
and over again that the bill was correct. I think Verizon does this,
basically LYE, so you will go with them. Our bill is around $250 a
month. I feel we were taken advantage of and that Verizon is corrupt.

I came home one day (preparing for a Labor Day family picnic at my
house) to find that they had begun digging out my yard (at the base of
a large tree) to install their FIOS lines. Because children were
involved, I had to cancel my family gathering. I called and wrote
and told them to remove their crap from my property. I did not give
permission and I did not know of this digging. They don't pay my
taxes and do not have a right to dig in my yard. I wrote to the
County and they said that I had to deal directly with the company
(they did not give permisson and hold no responsibility). My last
communication was to "remove your equipment from my property, replant
my lawn, and take care of the large tree whose root system you have
compromised." Needless to say, they didn't respond to me. I went
away shortly after that. When I return, if they have not removed
their equipment and repaired my property, I do plan to sue.

I have similar problems with my Verizon FIOS billing. I had a number
of bogus charges on my bills that I have been trying to correct for 8
months now. I even had a customer representative personally working
on this for me. She gave me some free services for my troubles, but
since then she hasn't been availabe on the phone number she gave me.
now Verizon is trying to bill me for the free services and the
original problem with my bill has still not bee corrected.

Numerous attempts to get the customer rep back involved with my case
has yeilded nothing. I am currently on hold with someone in the
billing dept that has just informed me that my previous months of
requests for credit for services I did not order have been denied.

I desperately need help.

I wish to participate in such a suit against these crooks. They use
heavy handed tactics, very deceptive billing and horrible customer
service.I met all my requirements with these thieves, and they continue
sending monthly bills that I will not pay, calling my home, which I will
not answer, now 3 months later I get a box from UPS to send a router
that I do not have back to Verizon. The irony here is they call
themselves a communication company,What a joke!!If verizon were truly
interested in resolving any of our issues they could simply write us
letters and that ain't going to happen is it?I do have a theory why
this happens,To the poor shareholder eyes we are considerd a
recievable on some flimsy balance sheet.Let's Sue em,the good ole

Hi there.
I knew i wouldn't be the only one with this problem!

I personally hate verizon but that's all we can get for phone service
in the california redwoods. They also told me that they could hook me
up with Direct TV. Because of my low income, i was told the phone
would run $18/month and that Direct TV would be $50/month FOR a ONE
YEAR contract.

This was back in November that i hooked up. Since then, EVERY SINGLE
MONTH my bill for BOTH is HIGHER & HIGHER. I wrote both companies a
letter in March complaining that each month my bill gets higher and
higher, told them to fix their billing problem, and that if they
didn't, i would stop service and then take directtv to court to get
out of the one year contract.

So far - nothing.

In addition, i have friends with Direct TV that tell me their bill is
EXACTLY THE SAME EVERY SINGLE MONTH.
SO why the hell is my bill higher and higher every single month?
I refuse to pay it.

I'm seeking class action law suit.

Regards,
Jeanne

I feel your pain. I called the 1-800 # to inquire of the triple paly
svcs and received a vendor who gave me a great deal. Since my home
already had the box and wiring I would not need a contract and could
cancel at anytime with no fess. I must have talked to 15 people at
verizon to confirm what it wascorrect and I was to rec. on 2-19-10. I
first encountered that they weren't even coming that day after all and
they would get there on mon.2-22-10. Now heres where it gets good!
They removed by exhisting box off the enterior of my home and put a
new box inside my garage. They left a huge hole in my stuco not to
mention you can see right into my garage now!! then they didn't tell
me that I would need boxes for all T V's to receive service. I left
Time warner because of the box issue and verizon was informed that at
every conversation I had. They even said that I only need the multy
room DVR and I would receive tv in 6 dif. rooms. Come to find out from
the installer that wasn't true. I have less chanels that they promised
me a larger bill for boxes I was told I didn't need and no free pay
channels that was also promised. HOWEVER, in trying to resolve this
after installation I was told I had a 2 yr contract and $380.00 early
term fee. They claim that they have a recording of me excepting the
contract. THEY DON"T AS I WAS SOLD THE PACKAGE WITH NO CONRACT AND NO
RECORDING. I told them to let me here the recording BUT we know how
that goes. Today is Sun. 2-28-10 and Time warner is returning on Tues
to reinstall their srvs. I found a ph # to spoeak with someone to file
complaints within verizon I have been waiting since the day of install
for then to call back. I have left mess. all week but no response yet.
I did receive some severe insults from the supervisor levels from the
San Bernardino Calif. office. Come to find out that thoughout all of
my phone calls prior to insatll that they stated they documented all
of my concerns and that the notes would reflect them so it would make
life easier after the instal...that was a blatent lie. All they
documanted was that they told me I have a 2 yr contract and and early
term fee. NICE they feel that when you call your side of the
conversation doesn't exhist. PLEASE tell me what to do to get a class
action suit going agaist verizon. It is now the principle of the
matter!!! I'm pissed and I am not going to get pushed around by them.
I will give them 100 pennies for 380 months towards the early term fee
before I will go down without this fight. In speaking with so many
others I have found that everyone has had very similar issues and as
far as I can see because noone does fight them, they are winning and
this is a SHAME. I believe that it is going to take all of us and we
have a voice so lets make it heard!!! I do have better things to do
than fight with them, BUT I have only had service for 1 week now and
the charges are over $900.00 due to the exterior stuco damage. Aint
this somethin!!! LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! PS my email will change on
tues 3-2-10 contact me @ gpzaloha@aol.com as a temp email. I will

My husband and I just joined Verizon in December 2009, we have already
had to make three phone calls regarding our billing and it is only
February! We have been lied to, misinformed, overbilled and treated
very poorly by the financial dept. We have a two-year contract and I
already hate them. When will it stop? You can't trust these big
companies because they know they can walk all over you and they are
creating billions in revenue so most lawsuits don't have much of an
effect. They will continue with their poor service and their
overbilling because it is financially gainful. We need a judge that
is going to place a fine so large they will have to reconsider their
policies or go out of business. Their attitude toward business and
their customers is what is killing the American Dream!

Hello,

ILD Teleservices is a leading payment processor for transactions
between merchants and consumers. Through contractual relationships
with telephone companies like AT&T and Verizon, we give merchants the
opportunity to let consumers charge products and services such as long
distance, internet access, and collect calling directly to your phone
bill.

As a result, instead of purchasing these items with a credit card or
opening an account with the merchant, you can have a transaction
billed directly to your phone. When you do, the merchant sends your
transaction information to ILD, and ILD adds the charge to your phone
bill. It's a service very similar to what credit card companies
provide.

If you have a charge you believe is incorrect, or if you have any
other questions or concerns with ILD, please let us know. We want to
address any and all issues you may have. To contact us, please email
us at askild@ildmail.com. If you would prefer to call us, please call
our hotline at 800-953-7765.

Thank you, and please let us know how we can help.

Thank God.. Finally! Yes, I am very interested. I've been waiting
for a Class Action suit against Verizon for a year now.

I contract for 1 year for the "Verizon Triple play Bundle Fios"
service, which also included the free TV back in Feb. 12, 2008. It is
now Jan. 19, 2009 and I still do not have Fios or the TV, but instead
they installed Direct TV and the installer said he was installing my
fios. That was a lie. I was only suppose to pay a one month charge for
the bundle at &114.00. My bill as of this month is $900.00 and
climbing. The didn't send a paper for 4 months. Now I am getting late
fees. I am being charged for each service (TV, phone, Internet) as a
separate entity.

Additionally, they are threatening to shut me off until I give them a
credit/debit card. I have called the FCC and they sent me a complaint
kit, which I am filling out right now. I have an account advocate,
named Kathryn who was suppose to be crediting my account. One more
thing, I am the mother and caregiver for my adult handicapped
daughter, who I am responsible for. Verizon has now began charging me,
without our LifeLine Program, which we have kept for many years.

Please contact me or your Law Firm @ 562-438-9970

Is anyone pursuing this? Because I have an outstanding balance, for
several years, from Verizon d/t multiple disagreements with the bill.
They refused to credit my account, continued to fabricate charges and
refused to release me from the contract. So, I stopped paying. It's
been hell on my credit rating, but I refuse to be manipulated by them.
I'm in if there is legal action been pursued. Please let me know!

Verizon is now putting bogus charges by SOLO Communications and Voice
Mail on bills to the tune of aproximately 13.00 each.

They refuse to remove these charges and respond with a return email
that reads:

"We have an agreement with Enhanced Services and ILD Teleservices,
Inc. that allows us only to place their charges on your Verizon bill
for your convenience. We are unable to handle their billing inquiries
or process any credits for charges they bill you." From Verizon's
Irvanna

and another bright and perky response"

"As per Irvanna's response, we are not authorized to handle their
billing inquiries or process any credits for charges they bill you."
-- from Jana

Can they just start billing for any ole bogus company... ???

Is this a land Line complaint? Assuming it is I want to join!! I
have had the life line service for many years. Im a single mother.
Well In september of 07 I started a new teaching job. I ordered DSL.
for 37.99 monthly. Well they added a Freedom Essentials package
includes long distance. Well I have never been able to make long
distance calls from my house phone even after they added this package!
I use my cell phone to call long distance. I never ordered the
package. It is now July and I am calling to find out what this is all
about. Yes I know I waited a long time but my job was very stressful
and time consuming. I suffered a lot of stress there a parent was
killed by the school bus after school. I saw her body under the bus.
Anyway they wont credit my bill. I NEVER ordered the service!!!

We start the Fios triple combo( Cable, internet and phone) on June
2,2008. We pass the initial credit check and we dont have to pay any
fees like intallation, deposit and dont required a credit card, that why
we get the service for $99+ tax = $120 a month. Five day later we get
the first bill, we call to find out why the bill so early, they say
they bill one month in advance.Ok sounds about right. Yeah right!

We pay the bill off $128. On July 7, we get a new bill for only $68.
That was wierd to me but I really dont pay attention to it into July
16, My bank account was charge $200.06 from out of the blue. I try to
contact them to inquire about the charge. After many day calling and
talking to representative that do not know what to tell me and tell me
alot of different reasons, finally on July 29 I find out the true. For
some reason Verizon run my credit for a second time, and this time I
dont pass the credit check. They change my service, prices and separate
them into 3 accounts, all this with out my knowledge. Then with out my
authorization they use the information from a one year old Verizon DSL
account( already close ) to optain my credit card number and charge
the $200, such no one can tell me what was for, ones again many
different reasons. My first bill end to be $368 instead $128. No even
the rep. that toke the order and run my credit the first time
understand what is going on, all this after him calling the billing
department. Now on August 1, we going back to Brighthouse(Time Warner)
and cancelling Fios for good, with one paying for breaking the 2 years
contract thanks to a 90 days guaranty. I hope

If this Class Action Law Suit is real count me in.

by Dannie Posted Mon July 21, 2008 @ 8:15 PM

In 2003 I disputed fruadulent charges that appeared on my phone bill
for long distant calls to foreign countries. I reported Verizon for
slamming on the NJ Attorney General's website. I changed providers and
never heard from Verizon again even though I rquested a Valid Bill
with the erroneous charges removed before I would pay the ligitimate
charges due. December 2007 suddenly Verizon showed up on my credit
report and I was contacted by an attorney. The refiled my complaint
with the attorney generals office. The attoenry general just sends me
notice that they are investigating. The law firm trying the to
collected the fraudulent debt, ignored my dispute letter and advised
the debt is valid because Verizon has my name and correct address. I
am beyond streesed and aggrivated and my credit has been adversley
affected. This cannot be legal, they are trashing my credit ignoring
my valid dispute and when I request a bill showing the itemized calls
they have refused and filed a complain in court. I am being bullied by
a major corporation and some boiler room collection attorney. I plan
to file charges at my local prsinct and began looking for an attorney.
Please advise as to the status of the class action law suit. I think
the practices of Verizon and their attorney are obviously fraud and
deceptive practices and they shouldn't get away with doing this to
people.
I wnat to be compisated for the stress, aggrivation and damage to my
credit. More then that I want them held accountable and for the
public to be made aware that they should fight back and not be bullied
into paying fraudulent claims, that so many do becuase a creditor or
their attorney holds their credit hostage.
thank you

I just added my son to the contract and upgraded our phones and added
an extra 700 mins/mo to the contract. This all happens the whole hour
that I am standing there talking to the store clerk. The clerk was
repeatedly told that we must upgrade the mins to 1400. We left and
proceeded to live our lives for the next month.
For the next month we talked on our phones and went over the
supposedly 1400 mins by 200 mins.

Now we have a $700 dollar bill because Verizon did not put the 1400
mins on our upgrade contract, which we did not have because they said
it would be reflected in our next month bill.
How can you trust a company to give you the correct product.
How can you be billed for something that you stood there for an hour
explaining over and over that you need more mins added to your
contract and hearing that it is on there.
Is this another attack on the American people.
Ask yourself this question, how long can this inept business practice
go on?
Thank
Ed

If your claims are legitimate, then I wish you all the luck. I've
heard so much bad feedback about cell phone service providers, and so
little good feedback. Perhaps a class action lawsuit is just what the
doctor ordered.

Of course, Verizon will end up raising their rates to cover their
legal fees, so in the end, you'll pay all over again.
