Join Me In Class Action Law Suit Against Verizon

Posted Mon September 11, 2006 4:25 pm, by Brad J. written to Verizon Local Telephone (and FIOS)

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

In June of 06 I received a Verizon phone with fabricated phone charges of $75. I called Verizon customer service and they informed me that they could not document the dates when the calls were made and the phone number origins. I then called the assistant to the CEO and vice-chairman of Verizon in NYC. She put me in touch with two other associates that said they would fix the problem and credit my account. Instead of crediting my account, I received more fabricated phone charges on my July, Aug and Sept 06 bill. I then sent a certified letter to Verizon's land line office in Newark, NJ and asked them to explain why I was being overbilled.I never got a reply. I then contacted a class action law firm who was very interested in my case. So if you are being wrongly overbilled by Verizon in anyway, and Verizon refuses to address your complaints,
please e-mail me at: VerizonClassAction711@Yahoo.com I will forward you complaints to the class action attorneys for review.

I want my account credited for all the bogus,
fabricated charges and I want the over-billing to
stop.

Hello,

ILD Teleservices is a leading payment processor for transactions
between merchants and consumers. Through contractual relationships
with telephone companies like AT&T and Verizon, we give merchants the
opportunity to let consumers charge products and services such as long
distance, internet access, and collect calling directly to your phone
bill.

As a result, instead of purchasing these items with a credit card or
opening an account with the merchant, you can have a transaction
billed directly to your phone. When you do, the merchant sends your
transaction information to ILD, and ILD adds the charge to your phone
bill. It's a service very similar to what credit card companies
provide.

If you have a charge you believe is incorrect, or if you have any
other questions or concerns with ILD, please let us know. We want to
address any and all issues you may have. To contact us, please email
us at askild@ildmail.com. If you would prefer to call us, please call
our hotline at 800-953-7765.

Thank you, and please let us know how we can help.

Thank God.. Finally! Yes, I am very interested. I've been waiting
for a Class Action suit against Verizon for a year now.

I contract for 1 year for the "Verizon Triple play Bundle Fios"
service, which also included the free TV back in Feb. 12, 2008. It is
now Jan. 19, 2009 and I still do not have Fios or the TV, but instead
they installed Direct TV and the installer said he was installing my
fios. That was a lie. I was only suppose to pay a one month charge for
the bundle at &114.00. My bill as of this month is $900.00 and
climbing. The didn't send a paper for 4 months. Now I am getting late
fees. I am being charged for each service (TV, phone, Internet) as a
separate entity.

Additionally, they are threatening to shut me off until I give them a
credit/debit card. I have called the FCC and they sent me a complaint
kit, which I am filling out right now. I have an account advocate,
named Kathryn who was suppose to be crediting my account. One more
thing, I am the mother and caregiver for my adult handicapped
daughter, who I am responsible for. Verizon has now began charging me,
without our LifeLine Program, which we have kept for many years.

Please contact me or your Law Firm @ 562-438-9970
Thanks,,,,, Xina Renata

Verizon Excessive bills by bevvy Mon August 24, 2009 @ 1:31 PM
by Linda P. Posted Thu September 11, 2008 @ 6:17 PM

Is anyone pursuing this? Because I have an outstanding balance, for
several years, from Verizon d/t multiple disagreements with the bill.
They refused to credit my account, continued to fabricate charges and
refused to release me from the contract. So, I stopped paying. It's
been hell on my credit rating, but I refuse to be manipulated by them.
I'm in if there is legal action been pursued. Please let me know!

Verizon is now putting bogus charges by SOLO Communications and Voice
Mail on bills to the tune of aproximately 13.00 each.

They refuse to remove these charges and respond with a return email
that reads:

"We have an agreement with Enhanced Services and ILD Teleservices,
Inc. that allows us only to place their charges on your Verizon bill
for your convenience. We are unable to handle their billing inquiries
or process any credits for charges they bill you." From Verizon's
Irvanna

and another bright and perky response"

"As per Irvanna's response, we are not authorized to handle their
billing inquiries or process any credits for charges they bill you."
-- from Jana

Can they just start billing for any ole bogus company... ???

I'll join you! Verizon has the most horrible customer service,
ridiculous wait times and incompetent representatives (I was on the
phone for an hour and 45 minutes and accomplished NOTHING) in the
world. I have been having issues with billing for many months and
wasted countless hours trying to get somewhere with these idiots; tehy
desrve to get sued. LJL

Is this a land Line complaint? Assuming it is I want to join!! I
have had the life line service for many years. Im a single mother.
Well In september of 07 I started a new teaching job. I ordered DSL.
for 37.99 monthly. Well they added a Freedom Essentials package
includes long distance. Well I have never been able to make long
distance calls from my house phone even after they added this package!
I use my cell phone to call long distance. I never ordered the
package. It is now July and I am calling to find out what this is all
about. Yes I know I waited a long time but my job was very stressful
and time consuming. I suffered a lot of stress there a parent was
killed by the school bus after school. I saw her body under the bus.
Anyway they wont credit my bill. I NEVER ordered the service!!!

We start the Fios triple combo( Cable, internet and phone) on June
2,2008. We pass the initial credit check and we dont have to pay any
fees like intallation, deposit and dont required a credit card, that why
we get the service for $99+ tax = $120 a month. Five day later we get
the first bill, we call to find out why the bill so early, they say
they bill one month in advance.Ok sounds about right. Yeah right!

We pay the bill off $128. On July 7, we get a new bill for only $68.
That was wierd to me but I really dont pay attention to it into July
16, My bank account was charge $200.06 from out of the blue. I try to
contact them to inquire about the charge. After many day calling and
talking to representative that do not know what to tell me and tell me
alot of different reasons, finally on July 29 I find out the true. For
some reason Verizon run my credit for a second time, and this time I
dont pass the credit check. They change my service, prices and separate
them into 3 accounts, all this with out my knowledge. Then with out my
authorization they use the information from a one year old Verizon DSL
account( already close ) to optain my credit card number and charge
the $200, such no one can tell me what was for, ones again many
different reasons. My first bill end to be $368 instead $128. No even
the rep. that toke the order and run my credit the first time
understand what is going on, all this after him calling the billing
department. Now on August 1, we going back to Brighthouse(Time Warner)
and cancelling Fios for good, with one paying for breaking the 2 years
contract thanks to a 90 days guaranty. I hope

If this Class Action Law Suit is real count me in.

VERIZON FIOS BUNDLE by xina r. Fri January 16, 2009 @ 3:40 PM

Re: Join Me In Class Action Law Suit Against Verizon by Ken-vs-Verizon Tue May 26, 2009 @ 10:21 PM

In 2003 I disputed fruadulent charges that appeared on my phone bill
for long distant calls to foreign countries. I reported Verizon for
slamming on the NJ Attorney General's website. I changed providers and
never heard from Verizon again even though I rquested a Valid Bill
with the erroneous charges removed before I would pay the ligitimate
charges due. December 2007 suddenly Verizon showed up on my credit
report and I was contacted by an attorney. The refiled my complaint
with the attorney generals office. The attoenry general just sends me
notice that they are investigating. The law firm trying the to
collected the fraudulent debt, ignored my dispute letter and advised
the debt is valid because Verizon has my name and correct address. I
am beyond streesed and aggrivated and my credit has been adversley
affected. This cannot be legal, they are trashing my credit ignoring
my valid dispute and when I request a bill showing the itemized calls
they have refused and filed a complain in court. I am being bullied by
a major corporation and some boiler room collection attorney. I plan
to file charges at my local prsinct and began looking for an attorney.
Please advise as to the status of the class action law suit. I think
the practices of Verizon and their attorney are obviously fraud and
deceptive practices and they shouldn't get away with doing this to
people.
I wnat to be compisated for the stress, aggrivation and damage to my
credit. More then that I want them held accountable and for the
public to be made aware that they should fight back and not be bullied
into paying fraudulent claims, that so many do becuase a creditor or
their attorney holds their credit hostage.
thank you

I just added my son to the contract and upgraded our phones and added
an extra 700 mins/mo to the contract. This all happens the whole hour
that I am standing there talking to the store clerk. The clerk was
repeatedly told that we must upgrade the mins to 1400. We left and
proceeded to live our lives for the next month.
For the next month we talked on our phones and went over the
supposedly 1400 mins by 200 mins.

Now we have a $700 dollar bill because Verizon did not put the 1400
mins on our upgrade contract, which we did not have because they said
it would be reflected in our next month bill.
How can you trust a company to give you the correct product.
How can you be billed for something that you stood there for an hour
explaining over and over that you need more mins added to your
contract and hearing that it is on there.
Is this another attack on the American people.
Ask yourself this question, how long can this inept business practice
go on?
Thank
Ed

We are fed up with HOURS kept on hold, appointment times changed w/o
consulting us and our account being changed to an improper number.

Verizon is THE worst for service bu cares little hhow much they spend
tryingto lure us into their net.

One Verizon phone consultant even sent us to a porno number telling us
it was a "special ps number for immediate FIOS service'.

If your claims are legitimate, then I wish you all the luck. I've
heard so much bad feedback about cell phone service providers, and so
little good feedback. Perhaps a class action lawsuit is just what the
doctor ordered.

Of course, Verizon will end up raising their rates to cover their
legal fees, so in the end, you'll pay all over again.
