I have been customer of verizon for past 7 years. i moved 3 different places, still carried verizon land line with me. On 02-jan-09, i moved my home, and changed from verizon fios to verizon land line (Service was not avalilable in new place). on 02 Mar 09, i went on a business trip, i cancelled my verizon landline. i explained my situvation to customer service representative. i currently still have verizon wireless number. i used to pay all my verizon bill via auto bill pay, but after i cancelled my landline, i never received any final bill for 3 months. when i applied for car loan, i noticed that i have Charge off in my verizon account for 400USD. after spending 7 hours with multiple customer service rep. i was able to prove that i owe only 143.66 USD. even for this i never received any balance. I payed the entire balance to verizon. even today, if i call verizon billing, they claim i have zero balance, and fios team claim 400 USD

Past numbers with verizon

7323980545
7323485832
7326361921

they don't have any connect between fios, verizon long distance.

there is a clear mis management from verizon. this non-payment is not totally my mistake. they have to remove the record from credit agencies

I once had Verizon too

i can't say that i never received the final bill though. When I left
I thought I was done, clean and free.

They might have sent me a bill... but most likely I glanced at the
envelope and said "Oh that's the bill I just paid off on the phone. It
must have already been in the mail"

So when I got a collections notice about 3 months later I was like
"what the heck?"
Paid it off but was very annoyed.

I will say this, though... I feel Verizon should be very clear about
that final bill, perhaps saying to the customer:

"You will have one more bill coming to you in the mail."

Or they should have the ability to tell the customer what that final
bill will be, so it can be paid off right then and there.

but at the same time... one should also be sure to not throw away any
letters from them after you close the account (like i had done)

because one of those letters just might be your final bill.

edit: "on the phone" should read "in person, when I closed the account" n/t by PepperElf Sun August 9, 2009 @ 11:23 AM
