Offer a Sharp and send a Viewsonic?

I signed up for a 2 year contract for your Triple Play. I did this because I was enticed by your free 19" HDTV offer. I called and signed up and I talked to a rep who confirmed before I signed up that the TV was a 19" Sharp AQUOS. That sounded great! Sharp is a great name and I had been in the market for my first HDTV. 2 months later the TV arrives yesterday. It is a 19" Viewsonic. I have never heard of Viewsonic and this is not what I agreed to. I wanted a Sharp, as promised.

Your representative offered me $50 off my bill which I accepted, however, due to the fact that this television is valued at $100 less than the Sharp and I am still not happy about having a no name brand rather than a Sharp, please make this situation right but offering an additional $50 off my bill. That is the least you can do. I would not have signed a 2 year contract with you if I knew I would not get what was offered. I am so deeply disappointed. Thank you for your time.

I have been sent no TV whatsoever. I signed up in January it is now
July. There was a comment about Sharp not being able to keep up with
the demand. This is what I have to say to that. Verizon extended the
Free TV offer because it was doing so well. They should have thought
about it before they extended the amount of time they were offering
the TVs.

As an update, I spoke to a supervisor there. He told me there is some
problem with their vendor who handles the gift offer and no one should
be receiving a subpar item.

He is contacting them today and I will either be given the correct
item or adequate compensation. Waiting.

You're not alone, Dana. this link may help explain the issue. Verizon
is trying their best to supply these televisions. I know it stinks,
but this explains the ongoing debate.

Dana,
Stroll on over to Bestbuy or one of those retailers and compare the
two.
I am so deeply disappointed. Over a TV?

Viewsonic is a well know brand of computer monitors. Most of their
monitors are well made and last forever, especially the CRT monitors.
Some of the LCDs have problems. I wasn't aware they were making TVs
now.

I don't think the are the quality of the AQUOS, but are still a decent
product.

I think the problem here is that they ran out of Sharps and the
manufacturer cannot keep up with the demand. If you do a search, many
people myself included have not gotten anything yet. If $50 was not
enough, you should have told them that when you spoke with them.

When was your service installed? Mine was installed in January and
I'm still waiting.
