NEEDS IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE!!!!!!!

Posted Fri August 18, 2006 11:18 am, by Jacqueline C. written to Verizon Wireless (Cell Phones)

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

I phoned regarding my bill, since I just started a new job. I got my 1st paycheck last Friday Aug 11, and on my lunch, went to the Verizon store on Rockside Rd., Independence OH to pay my bill. I was told by the greeter to simply drop it in the payment box and they'd process it ASAP. I did so, gladly, since I was on limited time lunch break. Today is August 18th. No one processed my check!!! And if they had, it sure has not cleared my bank as of yet, as I just called THEM. I dropped off a check for $175, my check #972 from Dollar Bank Maple Hts., OH. HAD I KNOWN THEY WERE NOT GOING TO PROCESS IT, I'd have WAITED IN LINE. Now they have interrupted my service, and when I try to phone the store itself, no one picks up, I am stuck in VOICE MAIL HELL. I am spitting mad, I am upset, and I am ready to head to the store and kick some serious cellular ASS.

Turn my phone back on! Process my payment! I paid as promised... LAST FRIDAY. Has anyone even CHECKED THAT BOX? I cannot believe my service is shut off when I kept my end as promised, all I asked for was time to receive my 1st paycheck. I paid MORE than I promised, also... as a good will gesture. I tried calling Customer Service who only proceeded to read me a SCRIPT. I have been a client over 10 years and have referred MANY. Based on this action, I am ready to LEAVE.

Jacqueline I'ld be way pissed if I were you too. But using profane
language doesn't get the job done. Of course you are 100% correct and
you don't need to use an online bill pay system. You have the law
working in your favor it is called the mailbox rule which basically
says that even if the company never gets your check you are not in
breach of contract because you did everything in your power to pay
them. Furthermore the law views you as having paid your bill the
second that you dropped it in the box not when they decide to process
it. the only exception to this is if you put the wrong address on the
envelope or something but I doubt that is the case since they usually
come self addressed to avoid this problem. If I was you I would sue
the shit out of them and enjoy the process. Don't forget that they
need to compensate you for the time that they have inconvenienced you
by turning off your phone. Or if you want since they are in breach of
contract you may be able to simply walk away from your contract
without a penalty.
Good Luck

Jacqueline,

If I got this letter with the line "kick some serious cellular ASS"
I'd file it directly in the round file and disregard it completely.

why didnt you use payment machine to make payment. they have a machine
that you make payments at in store. also they dont take payments at
counter. also was you in a vzw corp.store. or a dealers location. also
you could have made payment on vzw web site under your account info.
or even on your phone. good luck.

Did you tell the greeter that you were making a payment that was in
accordance with a special arrangement I assume you made with Verizon
customer service? Did you ask the greeter exactly what he/she meant by
"ASAP"? And if we're talking about a first paycheck from a new job,
are you positive that the bank made the funds available the minute you
made the deposit?

In the future, if you want your letters to be taken seriously, you
might want to consider cleaning up your language as HELL and ASS are
not terms usually associated with a professional letter.

Please calm down before you send letetrs to companies. Does Verizon
offer an online payment option? Those usually get credited within a
metetr of hours
