Very Disappointed

2.5 years ago I had to move to Virginia to help take care of my father after he became very ill. He lived in an area that didn't have service from Verizon Wireless so I called to talk to the company. They told me to fax in a copy of my drivers license from the new state and they would waive the Early Termination Fees then send me a final bill. Months went by and I forgot about it because I never saw or heard anything from Verizon again.

About a year later I got a phone call from a collection agency saying that I was past due and it has been reported to my credit. I talked to them and they told me if I paid a discounted amount they would delete it from my credit - it had to be discounted because they never waived the ETF's as agreed. I just applied for a mortgage and it is showing on my credit as a settlement to the account - VERY NEGATIVE!

I called Verizon and they told me there is nothing I can do because I was at fault and they don't correct what they report to the credit bureaus. I will never use Verizon Wireless again.

I want Verizon to remove everything from my credit as they agreed to years ago. I paid more than I should have to begin with and they still reported it to my credit.

"I will never use Verizon Wireless again."

Probably not because they wouldn't let you sign up for a contract with
you bad credit....

Sorry - this isn't on them. They tried to work with you but you
didn't do your part.

when you openly admit you just ... forgot?... to take the actions
needed to waive the fee.

Trying to play the "they agreed" card isn't going to work when you
know you had to send the information in and just didn't bother.

Well there's your answer. They told you what to do and you didn't do
it. Your fault. What were they supposed to do? Beg you to terminate
your service?
