Horrible customer service for a 16 year loyal customer

I have a Droid X and it sometimes does not work. I was talking to a client the other day and my phone started to dial the number 3 on and on and on. I was so embarrassed I had to call my client back. I took my phone to my local Verizon store and was told there was nothing they could do and I would have to buy a new phone. This was totally unacceptable. The person I talked to could not have been any more unconcerned. He told me "That is all we can do and have a nice day".

Is that the way to talk to a good customer of 16 years???? I have been loyal to Verizon for that length of time and I am now thinking of changing phone providers. I cannot believe I was talked to like that. The person I talked to was at the Bay Brook Store in Webster Texas.

I would like an apology and some help in purchasing a new phone that works.

Even if you wave your years of loyalty at them... they cannot fix your
phone if it's out of warranty.

How old is your phone? YOu use your phone constantly throughout the
day, it's not going to last forever. I wouldn't expect a smart phone
to last three years at this point.
