I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for over 8 years and always paid my account on time. I received a call from my mother that told me EOSCCA had called her with an account # and a number to call them back, wouldn't Verizon know my cell phone number as I am already a customer? I have read about scams from EOSCCA, but this is actually ON my credit report. So I did and the lady said that their was a overdue balance on a new account that I personally never opened. I did lose my wallet about 4 years ago. The amount was $323.00 and was opened on 06/01/2011. I do not know a telephone number of this account nor the account number as I never opened this account. I already have one with my phone and my wife's cell phone.
I pulled my credit report and their was a potentially negative report from Verizon Wireless in the amount of $323.00 opened on 06/01/2012. Account #2229745080XXXX. I called Verizon's Credit department and she searched by my SS #, address, name and told me that she could not find anything on all three of my credit report companies, nor an outstanding balance. She asked me to fax in the credit report that I had showing it was potentially negative.
I never received any bill from Verizon stating I had to pay this amount only from the collection agency yesterday. I have never opened this account. Why would Verizon let someone open an account without proper identification such as a driver's license ect?
I would like for Verizon to remove this from my credit report as I have always had good credit and always paid my bill with my current cell phone account.
This is directly effecting my life, my wife, and my 3 year old son. Credit is something we all strive to keep in good standing as financially we all need it.
