Contract Issues

I called Verizon in 2010 and received a great promotion for a data package and was told at that time it was for life as long as I didn't leave Verizon and come back.
In December 2010 my daughter received a new phone and when I called to activate it somehow the promotion was changed on her phone. I caught this 2 months later and called Verizon to fix the issue and they said it would be fixed.
A few months later I noticed it hadn't been fixed and called Verizon again. The representative said it wasn't fixed because the previous representative didn't do it properly. He credited my account and said he would take care of it.
It was never taken care of, so I emailed a Verizon Executive and received a call from Verizon Executive offices. Not an actual executive, but a person they authorize to take care of complaints. Apparently you can't talk with and executive from this company.
Anyway, I was told the reason the original promotion was never put back onto the line was because the promotion was no longer available, which is a lie. My friend, who has the same exact promotion, had the same issue happen and just 2 months ago it was fixed and put back on. A lie from a company who enforces there contracts but apparently does not feel they have to live up to there end of the contract.
However, they did credit my account the money I would be due if I had the correct promotion on my account for a period of 2 years. I was lied to a second time by either the executive office employee or the original representative who applied the promotion, because she said that the promotion was only good for 2 years. This is not was I was told when I initially was given the promotion.
It's sad, Verizon has been the ONLY cell phone company I've ever been with and to be lied to after years of faithful service and bill payment is very disappointing and frustrating.
This is only 1 issue I've had to deal with from Verizon in the last year. Thankfully the others, after over 40 hours on the phone with Verizon, were handled to my satisfaction.
Simply put the promotion that was suppose to be on my line back on it and not lied to. They did it for my friends just to 2 months ago so apparently it can still be done.
