Ending unlimted data for Grandfathered plans.

I heard today that Verizon Wireless was going to be forcing all customers to switch to tiered data plans even if we had an unlimited plan that was grandfathered in. To say I am displeased with that decision is a severe understatement.
I enjoy the knowledge that I will know what my monthly bill is as long as I don't go over my minutes or purchase any extras. With the loss of unlimited data I will have to worry if I'm going to use more than my allotted data.
Other than talking to other people on the Verizon network I use my phone mostly for listening to music at work though Pandora or another android app. At my job we don't have WiFi available so I can't piggyback on that.
When I'm out I use Pandora or Facebook and check my mail frequently.
Currently I use between 3 and 6 GB of data a month.
I want your company to understand that although I have been a loyal Verizon Wireless customer I and many others like me would strongly consider leaving Verizon Wireless for another provider that offers unlimited data if you choose to cancel the unlimited data plan for people who were grandfathered in.
I hope to remain a customer of Verizon Wireless for many years but I doubt that will happen at the end of my contract if I will lose my unlimited data.

It's an interesting industry right now. The tech guys are doing everything they can to get people to use their phones, and the phone companies are doing everything they can to restrict that usage. It'll be interesting to see who wins that war. My money is on the phone companies because it's all about the money.
Before long, it looks like all the carriers who are worth anything will be on capped data plans. The verizon plan (I checked this morning because I, too, have Verizon) is $50/month for 10GB. You can also do $30/month (the same cost as the unlimited plan), and get 5GB, with a $10/1GB overage charge. Not a whole lot of difference in the end run.
Still, it's annoying, because we feel like we were suckered into using the phone for everything (their advertising certainly suggested that), and now they are saying, "ha, got you."
Not sure anyone else is better though, assuming you want to use a smart phone on the high end of the market.
