Refund Requested from Victoria's Secret - faulty bras

The "old" very sexy bras

I purchased 3 "very sexy" push-up bras about 3 months ago - one beige, one off white and a black one. I used my Angel Card, which is easy enough for you to validate. I really liked the bras until I wore them about 5 times and I noticed that ALL 3 had wrinkles in the front of them. The wrinkles were noticible even through my clothing.

Tonight, I purchased almost the exact same bra in pink but "without the wrinkle flaw" as the salesgirl told me. The old Very Sexy bras were also very expensive - 42.00 each.

I usually wear a bra like this for 6-12 months. Therefore, since I got only half as much use from them as I expected, I would like a credit for 57.00 toward new bras.

It sounds like you never asked the store what they could do about your
bras... You went in for another and that's what they supplied and you
never asked them to exchange them or return them so I'm not sure what
the problem is. If they denied you then I'd write a letter. And they
did just redo the bra, mostly to laminate the cup so it wouldn't have
to be re-smoothed to eliminate the wrinkles. You should be able to
continue to wear the bras if you try to smooth out the wrinkles, I
have several of the previous versions and the wrinkles buff right out.

By the way.. I don't know who put that picture in there, that's not
the bra I am talking about.

I hand wash all my bras. I do intend to go back and talk to the store
manager with all 3 bras and see what she tells me. My daughter
actually worked at this store last year. She seems to think they may
replace them or credit me something. I wrote this letter before
speaking with her. I don't expect them to last forever, but I think
they designed this bra wrong. It should have a "recall" lol

Don't you think you should go back to the store with the bras for a
refund/exchange/credit? If I were a storeowner, I wouldn't give you
the credit based on this letter . . . how do I know if there's
anything wrong with the bras without seeing them?

VS doesn't stand behind their merchandise, in my experience. Years
ago, I bought a few cute satin bras there. Within days, they were so
annoying because the shoulder straps wouldn't stay adjusted! The
fabric was slippery (as satin is) and the platsic adjuster thingies
just kept moving. I had to constantly reach in my shirt and pull my
bra strap back up to my shoulder. It drove me nuts. I tried
returning them and they refused to discuss it.

I tossed them.

Much later, someone suggested to me that I could have stitched a
thread through it a few times to keep it adjusted to where I wanted
it. Oops. Too late for me, but a good idea.

But it sounds like your bras were defective and the salesgirl knew it.
They definitely should refund you some money, and I think your
attitude about it wanting a partial refund based on the use of them
you already had, was reasonable.

However, I have to ask -- you wear your bras for only 6-12 months? Do
you wear them a lot? I have over 10 bras and rotate them, so mine
last me too long to know what the expected life (# of
wearings/washings) of a certain bra would be.

I have two female friends who don't see why you should wash a bra
unless you've worn it for like a month. I think that's gross.

You say you went back and purchased "almost" the exact same bra. So it
wasn't the same one as the "wrinkled" ones?

Perhaps you need a good bra fitting. I've read several times that 75+
percent of women don't wear the correct size bra and they need a bra
fitting. Plus, we all know (well, at least females) that a bra made
by X brand, style XYZ, may differ from another style or brand in
size.

What did the manager say when you complained about the bras? Because
you did call and complain as soon as you noticed the flaws, right? You
went right in there with the bras and receipt in hand, yes?

BTW: the pic up there, I guess PF put it there, does NOT display "very
sexy" bras. :--)

That's a lot of money for a bra but you should have gone earlier with
your complaint. I know you feel the girl validated a fault with the
bra and that you should be able to go back. I think you may have worn
them too long unless there is a lifetime guarantee or some other
guarantee on them and then you have to return them. Your personal
mileage on wear is not how they will determine a refund.

I bet you really got embarrassed with guys staring at your flaws --
LOL!

I'm surprised that you would think that you should get credit on bras
because they didn't last as long as you expected. As far as I know,
Victoria's Secret doesn't sell their bras with a replacement guarantee
so none should be expected.

I would be mad too. I know what you are talking about the wrinkle
thing. I have had that problem too and it is very noticable. Although
I buy my bras from Walmart so I figured that was way. I would be
FURIOUS if I had spent $42.00 dollars on a bra and that happened!

I think you deserve something. Can you take them back for a refund? I
dont know. I quit shopping V.S. years ago although I kept them in
business for a couple of years. LOL!
