I recently went in to shop at Victoria's Secret in Vancouver, WA. I had a coupon for free panties, no purchase required, plus an offer for $10 off a bra. I just wanted the panties and I was in a bit of a hurry. When I went to find an associate about which panties they were she looked at the coupon and asked me if I wanted to look at bras too. I said no, just the panties. She then rolled her eyes, and said "the panties are over there" pointing to a table across the store. When I went to the register to redeem my coupon the girl (different associate) there didn't really acknowledge me, just chatted with another associate at the register while she processed the transaction. she then handed me the panties and casually said thanks. She didn't offer me a bag, so when I asked if I could get them in a bag or at least tissue she said "ugh, ok", threw the panties in a little bag and shoved them in my face. Now I know the idea of those coupons are to get you to come in and buy more, but I had just spent a lot of money there 3 weeks before. I am a regular customer at Victoria's Secret, have been for years, but I will NEVER go back to that store or any other VS for that matter.
I'm not asking for anything, I am just venting and letting you know you just lost another customer!!!

As a fellow VS employee I must say I am suprised by that behavior! I'll admit our job is to add on, so I personally will mention the bra (I usually try to suggest the matching cotton bras, it works pretty well), but even when I ask and they say all they want is the panty, that's fine. After repeating to people over and over AND OVER again where the cotton panty table is, what styles, colors, etc...it gets to ya. But at the same time I never let that show because I honestly do enjoy helping people pick out styles and making sure they get the right color and whatnot.
As for the bag thing, they may have been short on bags, but even at that I would always put even just a panty in a small bag! At one pont we didn't have medium sized bags so we only had really teeny or super large, so depening on the size of the order I would ask, but never just assume they didn't want a bag. What you got was terrible customer service, they definitely need better training!!

Those coupons are meant to get you to spend more money. I know whenever I get them in the mail I plan on only getting the panties, but I always spend much more there. Those ladies should not have been so rude to you either. I would suggest going online and buying things from VS there, but it wouldn't be a good idea to buy bras without trying them on. The people working at the VS that I go to are usually very helpful but there's occaisonlly a few who aren't that polite.

..the employess at our local store are just as snooty. A few years back my mother and I were shopping in the mall and just stopped in to see what their sale was all about. We were dressed average, jeans and tshirts probably and we were never acknowledged. Mom did ask about a size and we felt we were given the brush off.
Fast forward a few months later and we stopped in after a baby shower and the attention was bestowed upon us, we were looking pretty nice that day. It was like a scene in Pretty Woman where she goes in looking beautiful and told them they made a huge mistake.
We never asked for a manager since really to us it was kind of amusing, we were thinking this must be some sort of training ritual they go thru! It's all overpriced chintzy stuff anyway!

You know, I can definitely put myself in your shoes. I buy all my underwear from VS. And if I had gotten a coupon for a free pair of undies but had no need for anything else at that time (I tend to place large orders once or twice a year via the website, to avoid the hassle of going to the store and spending more money than I had intended), I'd have done the same as you -- and I would expect to be treated politely.

I am sure that many customers came in for the "free pantie" offer. And it seems these arrogrant employees assume that they only wanted this offer and had no intention of ever stepping in their store again. SOme may and some may not but that is not what customer service is about. Its treating ALL customers with respect and assitting them in as timely a manner as possible.
I hope VS answers your letter and I am glad that you are not asking for anything in return but for them to look closer at these employees who are representing their business and name.

I don't undertand letters like this (not to pick on just you!) that talk about being a loyal customer for a long time, but one bad experience will make the person never shop there again. Esp. one where they were just aburt and a little rude. They didn't argue with you about redemming the coupon after all. I'm not saying they were right, but seems a little short-sighted to allow this to keep you from a store you have otherwised enjoyed.
