On August 26, 2009, I went to the Victoria's Secret in Westwood, California. I was excited to use my free panty gift card as well as purchase some bras. Upon entering the store, I was not greeted by any of the associates. I then asked where the new panties were located and I was pointed towards a table. I picked out a pair and then started my quest to find some bras. I was extremely annoyed that no one in the store would come over to help me. There were 4 associates and 3 customers, including myself. Instead, 1 associate was busy folding panties, another was learning how to stock the displays, 1 was behind the counter and the other associate disappeared all together.
I grabbed some bras, the ones I could actually pull from the bin. I wear a 34 DD and they are crammed in the drawer in a manner that 1) they get stuck and 2) the bras become damaged. It took me about 5 minutes to get someone to open a room. Then while inside, I was buzzing for service , but no response. Meanwhile, I hear an associate eagerly helping another client.in a dressing room next door. I had to peak out, holding my top up to shield my nakedness just to get her attention. Not once did anyone ask how I was doing in the dressing room. At this time, I became furious and just went to the counter for my free panties.
When the associate at the counter asked how my shopping experience was, I replied that no one helped me and that I'm on a timed lunch break and didn't appreciate being treated in this manner. No apology, no manager was called, nothing.
As I was leaving, I could see the panty-folding associate following another customer around and actually helping her. I was completely disgusted that I was treated like an invisible customer. Needless to say, it is doubtful that I will return to VS in the future.
Please train your associates in the value of customer service. Folding undies doesn't make VS money and ignoring customers makes them not want to return. Furthermore, they should know how to prioritize. Yes, it is nice to have attractive displays, but not at the cost of ignoring a customer. Also, find another way to store larger sized bras so they do not become damaged.
