I am furious with Vonage

I had vonage for 8 months. It never worked correctly to begin with. Any time I called for assistance, I was on hold for a hour and then went to India where they do not even speak english. I called customer service to disconnect because I went back to Qwest and I was put on hold repeatedly and then I talked to a customer service agent that told me it was 39.00 plus tax to disconnect my crappy service. This takes the cake. I have not used the vonage service more than 100 minutes total in 8 months and when I go to disconnect I am on hold for a hour and charged 42.99 to leave even though I have never missed 1 payment and have a 0 balance. I will never go back and recommend that no one else does either.

Not punish me for their crappy service by making me pay 42.99 to leave. They never cared until I left. It was very evident how cheap the service was when they sent me to India for tech support. I am furious. I want my money back.

I have Vonage and I love it. Its been over a year- the only problem i
have is bad voice quality with certain peer to peer programs running
in the background on my computer. Shut them off and its crystal
clear, and for 14.99 I wasnt expecting the greatest quality. You get
what you pay for. I have found them to be a whole lot cheaper than
verizon and have much better service.

I can understand your frustration but your letter needs some
"polishing" up and more information is needed to figure out what the
problem is. Was this a kit that you installed yourself and was the
software correctly installed? Is the hardware you have on your
computer meeting the minimum requrements? and so on...

I agree the wait time was a bit too long, but the whole India and
outsourcing issue is fairly common practice. They are highly skilled
and very intelligent, attentive people for the most part, they may
have an accent but I've found that I can, for the most part,
understand what's being said.

Anyway I do hope your contract dosen't have one of those clauses about
"early termination fees" or you may be out of luck on a refund... but
do keep us updated.
