I ordered Vonage phone service, thinking that I could save money on my phone bill.Instead I was lied to,assured that I could keep my current DSL with another phone co.After paying for shipping for their equipment and installing it,I learned that I couldnt keep my DSL service with another company. When I called to cancel Vonage,I was told that I had to pay 43.00(taken from my account right then)until their equipment was shipped back to them.Of course this came out of my pocket too. When I told them how I was lied to all I got was a "I understand"/I wouldnt use Vonage ever again. And of course,my money is still missing.

Refund all shipping costs, including the original amount of 15.00 plus 5.00 tax.thats a total of 63.00 for nothing.

My sister just went through the same thing. She has a home phone with
DSL. She called me the other day to brag about the great deal she was
getting with Vonage. The Vonage rep walked her through the whole
process of porting her number to Vonage and told her that her AT&T
phone service would be shut off on xxx date. She had already told him
that her DSL was also through AT&T and he said "no problem". My sister
can be a little "ditzy", but it should have been explained to her that
her DSL will shut off at the same time her phone service does. She had
been under the impression from the advertisements and what the rep
said that Vonage would replace BOTH phone and DSL.

It is impossible to have DSL service with a VoIP line. DSL requires a
copper phone line in order to function and VoIP does not run on
copper.
