Unhappy customer

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

I was shopping for a bassinet and comparing prices on the internet. I found the one that I liked and compared prices. Wal-mart said that there was a rollback on that bassinet for $74 dollars. So I went into the store and the price was higher ($98 dollars) and it did not show a rollback. So I asked someone and they went to talk to a manager. They told me that the manager said that they couldn't give me the rollback price because it wasn't posted. So I was pretty upset that I wasted my time to go there and didn't the advertised price. So I feel that they were false advertising. So needless to say I bought it for the price that they had it for in the store. So I am already upset but when I get home I open it up and the pad that goes in the bassinet is ripped. How nice. I would have returned it but it was the only one that they had. So now I have to contact the company that the bassinet came from to get a new pad.

First of all they need to honor there advertised prices. And a manager could have come out to talk to me and tell me the situation rather than play telephone.

You are clearly being an uneducated shopper, every1 knows that the
online prices never match the store prices. The pad was ripped, hello
your shoppin at walmart where everything comes from a third world
country run by 10 year olds. Quit being cheap and buy that baby some
quality merchandise

You'll find that most stores will have lower prices on their websites
verses their stores. On the other hand, you will also find that you
have a charge for shipping & handling that may makes up the difference
in price. I think that $24 difference is a bit much, but that's
Walmart for you!

If it were me, I wouldn't waste the effort going after the
manufacturer just because it was the last one. Especially when you
didn't even get it for the price you thought you would.

Not worth putting yourself through the extra aggravation and hassle!

Many times, the items offered online are cheaper to encourage people
to order them online (since shipping raises the overall price of the
merchandise). You might want to order the one online that is the
price you found and THEN just return the other one back to the
physical store since it is defective.

Good luck!

While I agree with the others that you should have read the fine
print, I totally agree with you that when you asked to speak to a
manager, the manger should have spoken to you themselves. It seems to
be a general consensus here that the store manager is you first and
best line of defense when you have a problem or question.
As far as Wal Mart basiclly not standing by the merchandise they sell,
that seeme to be a growing trend. There have been several letters
about that as well. So I guess as consumers, we all have to become a
little more aware of the policies and practices of the places we
choose to shop.

Well, the others said it very succinctly.

You need to read the fine print.

I just checked on Walmart.com and the only bassinet they have in the
price range you have stated is a Winnie the Pooh 4 in 1 Convertible,
Walmart No. 002605254 - - original price $98.34 and Rollback price
$74.96. It very clearly states "Special pricing available online
only" so this is not a case of "false advertising".
