Wal-Mart Stores is an irresistible (or at least unavoidable) retail force that has yet to meet any immovable objects. Bigger than Europe's Carrefour, Tesco, and Metro AG combined, it is the world's #1 retailer, with about 6,775 stores, including some 1,075 discount stores, 2,250 combination discount and grocery stores (Wal-Mart Supercenters in the US and ASDA in the UK), and 580 warehouse stores (SAM'S CLUB). About 60% of its stores are in the US, but Wal-Mart is expanding internationally; it is the #1 retailer in Canada and Mexico. It also owns a 95% stake in Japanese retailer SEIYU. Wal-Mart also has operations in Asia, Europe, and South America. Founder Sam Walton's heirs own about 40% of Wal-Mart. |

I went into Walmart to purchase some grocerys an a bottle of wine. My 17 year old son was with me I am 40 the lady at the register was rude and would not sell me the wine because my son was not 21. I asked to speak to a manager he said it was store policy. I asked him so everyone with a child or niece or nephew or acquaintance that is under 21 you will not sell alcohol. He said yes. So I just...

Shopped online for an automotive battery. Entered my zip code and selected a store so it knew where I lived. Got a price of $84.97 for the item. I went to the store to purchase, and they wanted to install it in my car without giving me a price. They told me I would know the price when I checked out. When I insisted, they seemed put out. AFter a huff and puff they looked it up and told me it was...

I have shopped at Wal-Mart for over 30 years. Every since they arrived in Huntsville, AL. I have seen Wal-Mart policies continue to worsen continuously and have always tried to understand the business side of things; however, to day has completely ended any desire to ever return again. My experience today falls in line with so many others and is the final straw. I am 44 yours old, a well...

I was returning a bathing suit for my wife that still had the tags on it to the Wal-Mart in Lake Park, FL. I had a receipt and she only bought it yesterday and it did not fit. The woman asked if she had worn it and I said no but the question was strange since the tags were still on the suit. She processed the return and I went on my way. I started thinking about the other people returning...

Every month for two years I have asked the Walmart at Branson Parkway in Branson Missouri to get non-electric wheelchairs for the elderly. Taney County Missouri is a retirement community and there are many elderly. There is one old non-electric wheelchair for the entire community. So when I take my 90 year old mother to do her weekly shopping we have to wait in the car until someone turns in...
