I have purchased gift cards at many establishments and have never
heard of getting a gift receipt. Gift receipts are only used in the
event the recipient needs to return the gift. Gift cards are
non-returnable so a gift receipt is not needed. If you want the
receiver of the gift card to know how much is on the card, simply
write the amount on the back or on the paper backing that comes with
the card.
