Your parking lots are way too dark! If you are going to stay open that late, turn on some lights!

Turn up the lighting power!

You should get a flashlight and keep it in your car. You'd be
surprised on how much you actually need it.

were there any lights out in the lot
or were they just not bright enough?

I'd suggest submitting a comment to their management system. can't
hurt to try at least

They are being good corporate citizens by reducing their carbon
footprint.

Store that are open late or for 24hrs should have appropriatly lit
parking lots if they exepect their customers to feel safe coming to
shop there.

I would take this directly to the manager of the store in question and
ask him why the lights are not all on...or if they are why are they so
dime. Could be the lamp covers may need to be cleaned also.

store manager has no control, Bentonville AR, controls heat, ac and lights by Chadg Sat July 18, 2009 @ 9:16 AM

Why not shop earlier? The few times a year I darken their door (it is
hard to tell, with the outside lights being so dim), it is late in the
evening so I can avoid the riff-raff. The lot is somewhat dim, but I
have to say there are very few people in the store. It wouldn't make
much sense to light the whole place up like a hockey rink.

Maybe they could improve the lighting in the closest parking spots
only.

I agree. The parking lot at my Stop & Shop is too dark. And not only
that, the lights are turned off in sections inside the store, making
it hard to see. I don't know if it's a matter of going green, saving
money, or both, but I actually stopped going. Not so much because of
the parking lot (which is pretty safe), but I was having trouble
seeing inside the store. I wish they would cut back on the a/c
instead of the lighting. It's always freezing in there!

Couple good points from some previous posters, I would take it a bit
further by asking to speak directly to the manager of that store and
voicing your concerns if it's really an issue. If there really is
nothing that can be done, I would recommend parking as close to the
light posts as you can, and/or as close to the entrance as you can if
you're shopping at night.

I agree with Nate's comment below. Also, if they can't truly adjust
the lighting levels, consider asking a store manager if an employee
can accompany you to your car.

This is what "Going Green" does for ya.

I was at home depot yesterday looking at shower heads, and tried to
find one that was not "Eco Friendly" or "low flow", I could not find
one.

I am reminded of the episode of Seinfeld.

Good feedback, but it may be out of the control of Wal Mart.

Local ordinance often specifies light height, intensity, and
quantities. If Wal mart were to do something differently, they could
be ticketed.
